Is anyone interested in working with me to port Everaldo's Crystal Icons into XOOPS?

I think XOOPS would benefit greatly with these KDE icons.

Ultimately I would love to see XOOPS have a single location for all icons, single set of names, and have all module authors be able to take advantage of this central icon repository-- it would make the creation of a single look & feel for each XOOPS site much easier and more elegant.

I happen to like the KDE Crystal Icons but fully recognize others may prefer different icons.

I have made a rather huge file of icons available for anyone to use at:

Hi folks,

I don't think this effort would require much art work-- I think Everaldo has done all of that. Really what we need is a bunch of icon renaming and directory overlays. Once we do that people could use the initial set of Crystal icons.

Later some real programmers (probably not me... )might add some database structure where we could store these things (meaning the really handsome icons from Crystal). The biggest work of all will be convincing all those great module writers out there that the database of icons is easier to use than having to edit and create their own.

I guess I'll crawl back under my rock now....

For those of you who might enjoying Crystal Icons on Xoops, here's a file you may use.

Be certain to back your files up before making the overlay just in case you don't enjoy these icons.

Instructions for the update are pretty simple:

==> download the files from http://eirenicon.org/Downloads/images.tar.gz

==> un-pack the tar.gz file and
==> over-write your directories

==> a set of Crystal-based XOOPS Icons and Images -and/or-
==> a set of MS Instant Messenger-style smilies

Can you make a *.zip file of the icons, for all us Windows Dummies that can't open a zipped tarball?
