Xoops Native Forums (Not Refreshing with Content)

I am new to XOOPS and have found it relatively easy to find my way around and get things in order. My background started with phpNuke, then PostNuke, then Mambo, and quite a few others on a trial basis.

I have come to a point where I think XOOPS has everything I could hope for and it looks to be easy enough to make modules if I need to expand its capabilities.

So, my problem comes with the forums. I have an issue with the forums. I am not sure exactly what is going on, but it seems that after the first few posts on the message board, it started having issues with showing posts. They are there, they will show up eventually... but they don't appear on the forums after you post.

The first few times I used it, it worked very well. Then, one of my admins made a post the other day (probably only the 5th new topic started) and it didn't show up. So I made a post. I submitted the post, was redirected to my post, saw that it was there and thought my admin was on crack, but when I went to the parent link of the forum, it didn't show up as a topic. It was like it wasn;t there. It showed up a day later.

I went to the forum admin and synched the topics and database data, but still to no avail.

Everything we have posted since then seemingly takes a day to update.

If someone knows what might be going on I would appreciate some help. I have yet to create any templates or any designs. I have not messed with the core code, or any code... I was just trying to figure it out before I went further with development.

Thanks again,

Brad

are you using module caching for the forum module? (System -> Preferences -> General Settings) This would cause the symptoms you describe.

Well of course it had to be something easy and stupid on my part.

You are correct, I did have caching on. I forget why I turned it on (I think I was on crack or something).

Thanks for your quick response. I can already say, this is the fastest response I have gotten from any opensource CMS community.

and the most helpful on what most would consider a "dumb question"

So thanks guys, your CMS has already won me over, but the ccommunity has definitely affirmed my decision.
