I'm just guessing here, but it sounds like the known Zend Optimiser problem, where it conflicts with PHP 4.3.10.

If your host is running PHP 4.3.10 ask them if they are also running the latest Zend Optimiser. The earlier versions of the optimiser have a bug that affects 'foreach' calls in PHP 4.3.10.

The original poster mentioned trouble with foreach calls, which makes me suspect that their host might have upgraded their PHP version to 4.3.10. .... is that possible?

Hope this helps,

Re: Original poster still have the problem

I know that I have seen that error before. But I am not sure what would cause it with PHP 4.3.3

Anyone have ideas on the cause of this?

if it's not zend (altho it would be great if you could inform us of the zend version if ur running 4.3.10)

with the other issue 12lamats, i can't think of it being zend in your case.. but a likely candidate is the old MySQL version.. but i can't be sure about it as i'm running 4.1.9 myself..

to be secure tho, i would really recommend upgrading to php 4.3.10 as it has lots of security fixes, if it's a hosted server i would contact them and really push for them to upgrade their servers as it is a big security risk.. if they refuse i would think about finding a new host.. but regarding these issues i can't think of any reasons other than those aforementioned.. sorry..

Re: help! failed creating table at install

#*?_nl_- is your actual database prefix? Is that valid for MySQL database table names? I don't know, but try with a different, all-letters, prefix and see if that changes things.

I do have an all letter prefix, Thanks I'll check with my host for the possibilities of upgrading. Would that be the solution for this problem? I will let you know. I can't just switch host I payed for a year for a Virtual Private Server. The got to XOOPS through my provider, I'll ask them. Once again thanks for replying.
