I've had this problem before with other modules and I'm trying to install the module XOOPS Chat. I get "Module for File not found!" I've checked xoops_version.php and the dir matches the name of the module folder.. I really don't know enough php to know how to fix that. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

this is just a guess, but as it happened to me before, i might be right. if i´m not, don´t kill me

maybe it´s a "folder in the folder"-problem? make sure you have the module folders (admin, language etc.) directly in the xoops-chat folder, and not another xoops-chat-folder in it. this sometimes happens while expanding the archive (at least it does to me!) and then transfering the wrong folder-structure...

I'm pretty sure they're right.. it goes /modules/xoopschat/(admin, languages, etc) so i dunno :-\

That directory structure looks right. Try and re-upload maybe some files did not get copied properly.

I had the same problem but i resolve it with changing the permission of the file. I'm on OS X and i simply apply read only for everybody on the folder and apply to all enclosed items. Surely using chmod will do the same thing under every Unix platform.
