Perhaps for some of you this will be a very silly or stupid question but........
What will happen with end-users who keep on using XOOPS vs 2.0.7.3 but one day their webhost upgrades the php version to 5.
I ask myself what will happen with their running XOOPS website. Will it still function or will their website be completely broken, disfunction?
I've absolutely no knowledge on this theoretic and practical systemrunning/hosting -version- matters. But am very curious.

Grtz., Shine

Hopefully your webhost should notify you beforehand, but you would need to upgrade to XOOPS 2.0.9.2 (or whatever is the latest stable build at the time).

I dont think this is what you wanted to hear but when my host's upgraded to PHP5 it killed my site but then I upgraded to the latest version of XOOPS and that fixed the main core of Xoops, however you may find that a few modules will still fail to function and they would require an upgrade as well if they are available.

Regards

Stuart makes a good point here. Might be an idea to create a testing environment with PHP5, and then upgrade XOOPS on it and test each module to see if it works ok. If not, try contacting the author to see if PHP5 support is planned for that module.
