I have posted the module called "guide" on my site. When you log in you can see it under "Resort Guide". Or Download it under Xoops. At this point it is xDirectory with a different name. I am working on modifying it further.

I found a realty module at the following site:

http://servicelance.com/modules/mydownloads/

I tried to install it, but the module presents a login window under the module administration

Perhaps someone else can try?

I have made some progress in making this work. First, go to the admin section, enter anything for the "forgot password" text box. On the next page there will be a link to "Create a new user account" at the top of the page. It will not let you create an account called "admin" (probably because that was already created). Choose something besides "admin" and complete registration. Then you will have an account and you can log in and add listings.

This still does not give you the ability to edit the current sample listing. That can be removed manually. This is like it creates a standard user account for you, not an account with admin privileges. If any other accounts are created, you have no control over what they do.

I realize this isn't a complete answer, but it is what I have learned so far. Any other input would be great. It looks this this could be a very valuable module for real estate listings.

Follow-up to my previous post...

The default login for the real estate module found at http://servicelance.com/modules/mydownloads/ is the following:

username: "admin"
password: "password"

I was just sitting here tinkering around, taking a break from my Christmas shopping at CrocoDeal.com, when I sarcastically typed in that combination and to my amazement the administrative page popped up. I hope this is as big of a help to you as it will be to me. There are a lot of great options in the admin section that are very user friendly (including the ability to change the admin password).

I know there are a lot of you, like me, that have been waiting for a functional real estate module. I think this is the one for me!

Excellent find! This is what I have been looking for! Why isn't this one in module repository? Thanks for the tip nevertheless. :)

Well, perhaps you could help. Apparently you can add links yourself:
https://xoops.org/modules/repository/submit.php

I will also try to do it from now on when I find something good.

I have what DJ Downey developed and is his version 3.1. At that time (summer '04) he wanted a donation and I didn't have a problem with that and donated the same small amount I did with Xoops.

Since it's been about 6 months since his site went down, I emailed him and indicated I was going to make it available to the XOOPS community.

I didn't want to get into the middle of a gpl/developer flame, should he feel he has some valid reason for wanting a donation for his time in porting it to xoops.

Don't know how this works, but I'm going to try and put it up on dev.xoops.org. I will also e-mail it to any of the well know XOOPS developers, but since I live in the boonies and only have dial-up, and the versions(s) I have are about 3.5meg, please understand that I just won't be able to e-mail it to all.

I got the file space and the pipes to handle the download if you want me to host it.
