Thank you twitaman very much for summarizing the steps.

Everything went just fine.

Just a note to everyone to be sure to set the access permissions for each forum.

Thanks again.

I couldnĀ“t see anything about deleting the update folder, but I suppose I should do that after upgrading, right?

Great new look/functionality btw, very satisfied, thanks dev-team!

What access permissions do i need to set up excatly.
eg. as admin, when i log in i can see the forum no probs but my users cant, so i figure it is access permissions though i am not sure what the steps are exactly to set these permissions, any help would be appreciated cheers.

Help - I am lost....

I Have installed newbb2 to my site, and everything appears to have gone just fine - well kinda.

If I go to the blocks menu (under newbb) I get this error:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/test.dickinsd.f2s.com/user/htdocs/modules/newbb/admin/myblocksadmin.php on line 97

Looking at the file, it just abruptly ends at line 97, there doesn't appear to be a complete file here?

Can you tell me what has gone worng, I followed the instruction for updating from 1 - to - 2 (I think)

Also, one of the instructions was to replace my main.php file in /modules/system/admin/modulesadmin/

Replacing this messed up the blocks admin for the rest of the site.

When you go to System Admin, and choose blocks, I was getting the modules admin page? I replaced the main.php with the one I had backed up and it works again? (This did not correct my error mentioned above)

My question is what does this mean? :
Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/test.dickinsd.f2s.com/user/htdocs/modules/newbb/admin/myblocksadmin.php on line 97

Ok,

Don't worry about it, I am lucky that I have another site (currently in test stage) this site is running newbb2, which is what sold it to me really, anyway, I took a copy of the myblocksadmin.php file from that web server, and it seems to be working fine so I guess I will leave it at that!

2) Then I replaced the main.php file which exist in the system/admin/modulesadmin folder with the bug fix found here:http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1052403&group_id=41586&atid=430842]

Is this step still required when running 2.0.9?
