Since a few months I am using XOOPS succesfully on Windows2003 server (IIS)
Now on a different machine with a fresh installation of Windows 2003 (and essential fixes), MySQL 3.23.58 and PHP 4.3.9 the trouble starts.
Installationproces works fine. I even can login as admin.
I can access the administration menu (wwwroot/admin.php)
Trouble starts when entering the system admin menu (wwwroot/modules/system/admin.php) for setting my preferences etc.
There is a blank page.
For several days know I am struggling with this problem I followed the instruction at the WIKI troubleshoot part and XOOPS for Dummies.
I learned a lot but the problem is not fixed. There is no error message at all. Even after following all instruction from the sites I mentioned.

After all I installed the machine again with a fresh Windows2003, PHP and MySQL (same versions)
Start all over again... Same problem, No solution

For now I ask for your help. I can't get it fixed.
You can look at http://62.194.241.137 and login with username: admin and password: xoops
You will see the default theme, Logging in will work, clicking the administration menu wil work. But entering the system menu for setting preferences, grouppermissions etc. will NOT work. It seems to me that is quit necesserily.

So please try, see and give your reaction.

When you need more information please ask for it.

Hoi Wilco,

We've been getting some other reports of unexpected behaviour on windows servers lately. In most cases the guys at http://www.iis-resources.com were able to help out. I suggest you try them too

Most issues I have seen on these forums related to IIS problems, were user misconfigs. Are you sure the server user has full write access to the database? Are the correct folders writable by the system? Things like that.

Other then that, without any debug info, I'm as stomped as you are. (Have you tried setting debug to MySQL debug?)

Thank you Herko for the quick response.
I used http://www.iis-resources.com/ as a reference.
I will post a message there also...

As far as a read, know a see access right ar set right. Similar to the other machine running XOOPS succesfully.
And I tried setting debug to MySQL debug. (it's descriebed in XOOPS for DUMMIES.
So I set it but even then there was no debug info.

Always ready to help a fellow Dutchman The fact that there is no debug info whatsoever might suggest a PHP issue. Have you redownloaded the XOOPS package (maybe your distro was damaged in some way?)

hhttp://sourceforge.net/projects/xoops is where you can find most of the files.

Older version? 2.0.7.3 is the most recent stable version, with some nasty bugs fixed...

Well I am using that one...
However I don't think it is a problem with XOOPS, it's the only thing I didn't try.

I tried XOOPS 2.06.
Same security settings etc...
This works fine.
So, can I conclude there is a bug in XOOPS related to IIS6?
For now I wil go further with 2.06. Or... can anyone convince me I made the wrong conclusion?

Look at the working site (AFTER 48 hours from now down ))

Thanx to Herko and the guys at http://www.iis-resources.comI solved the problem.
At last changed to FASTCGI in stead of ISAPI.

I am a happy guy but I still wonder what's the difference and why it happens with ISAPI
