How easy is it to implement tooltips in css - so they can be added easily to any XOOPS content modules? (News/Sections/WF-Sections/etc?)

I remember seeing a piece on a site ages ago - but it seems to have vanished :(

Any help appreciated :)

it depends on what you want to do ..

i found a nice dhtml onhttp://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex5/dhtmltooltip.htm

perhaps this helps a bit ?
i did it a year ago on one of my site but added some things per hand, dunno if there is the way to include a script generally in /includes ?for i'm too stupid with php

edit : i included the script in theme.html and added the onMouseover manually inside my link or page element that contains the tooltip

I have a class that I designed for a module I'm currently working on that allows you to add a tool tip to any piece of text using a very simple function. It's not really ready for use outside the module it's currently in but I'll see about making it more usefull for any situation, and maybe add a SMATRY function for use in templates, and release it for others to use.

It uses the JS file from http://webfx.eae.net/dhtml/helptip/helptip.html

If you look at the smarFAQ help files here http://docs.xoops.org/help/sfaqh/index.htm you will see tool tips by overlib. I have a class files for this as well. Ive seen this used in other php scripts very successfully.

I remember seeing one site - perhaps one of the Blog module sites? - which had instructions with inserting tooltips via CSS commands.... but it seems to have gone.

Anyway - there's some very good ones there for me to check out, thank you all for your help on this!

That is more like it! Looks like there should be very little space overhead, unlike some of the others...
