Greetings,

I'm wondering how a person goes about adding a new page to their website that can be edited through the admin panel.

I would like to create some pages just to add some basic content such as about us, pricing, services etc. without having all the "extras" that the modules provide.

There's a module to do both of these things called 'WF-Channel'. You can get it from WF-Projects.com, and it allows you to create your own HTML pages and then include the page using the module.

If you visit my personnal site, and click the link about 'Misc Info' near the bottom of the left central block, you will see all the 'About Us' bit, which is part of the standard module modified for my own use, but then if you click on the sub-menu (I think it's 'The Creator') that links to one of my own HTML pages that I just told the module to use.

It's great - try it!

For this I use the module called TinyContent (v1.5)

it allows you to add new HTML pages and also adds them into the menu and submenus.

Very useful for just adding some info pages.
