how do i remove the home item in the main menu?

hey there... I was just thinking that it's kinda pointless to have two buttons in the main menu that do the same thing... in my case the news module is my home page so i really want to remove the "home" menu from the main menu alltogether. how can i do this?

go to system admin -> block -> main menu block -> edit template. The first item is the 'home' menu item.
