Headlines Module - Doesn't support most RSS feeds

Has anyone got a fix for the Headlines module. It doesn't support many RSS feeds even the RSS/XML file generated by RSS Fit. The only one that seems to work is XOOPS. Even tried all 3 formats.

Thanks tl,

According to the tip I did this:
Check to make sure allow_url_fopen = On in php.ini - Yes

Downgraded saxparser.php from v1.9 to v1.5 - then restarted Apache

Still the same problem.

So all believe related to the saxparser in XOOPS - any fixes? According to XOOPS csv saxparser has not been touched in 12 months - still v1.9

BTW - Local, Fedora Core 2

the headlines module currently needs a maintainer. There is a recent discussion on dev.xoops.org about the future features of xoopsheadlines, but so far no one has stepped up to update it.

Headlines doesn't support Atom feed.
Is there an other module that support it?

i was able to get it to work with BBC and washingtonpost. i had to play with the settings a bit, but both work now. both are on utf-8 even though the feed says otherwise.

I have been trying to get rss feeds for this link on XOOPS headlines but havnt' worked so far.
RSS works for most other sites but this is a site that i really wants to have.
So i would appreciate if anyone can look into and see if thats aproblem with the rss feed they are having.

I've looked at the ATOM specification briefly (few seconds) and it seems to be pretty different than RSS. I'm doing a hack for the module to make it use the magpie RSS/ATOM parser instead of the sax xml parser. Magpie does not validate the feed but seems to handle most feed types.
