Just realized one problem, be it with the forum here or the one that I am testing out for my own website: I can't stay logged in! Everytime I close the browser, I gotta log in once again. But that doesn't seem to be happening for any other forums I'm in (or even the current one my site's using), so what's wrong?

Ok, just realized even when I don't close my window, it'll 'expire' after some time and I'm logged out. Doesn't happen elsewhere. How to stay logged in???

Im having the same issues. I think the session only lasts about 5 mins. I've lost a coulple of pm's here on XOOPS that took awhile to write. So now im rewriting my posts in notepad this time. That way XOOPS wont log me out...

Only my friend who's using Mozilla doesn't experience this. If that's the case, isn't this considered a problem??

So the problem really has to do with the browser? Wonder how come I manage to stay logged in at BBPixel.com then.

Re:Can't stay logged in

they probably have increased their session time to something much larger than the default (15 minutes). XOOPS.org's sessions are now set at 25 minutes to see if that helps user's auto-logout problems.

Would have preferred if it was based on cookies.

basing on cookies, has it's advantages and disadvantages..

you stay logged in on bbpixel.com because the default setting is set to remember me on the autologin.. i think the session time on autologin is 1 year.. so you'll always be logged in until you clear your cookies..

i'm curious as to how your friend stays logged in tho using mozilla?

being as after the session expires a new session key has to be created upon next login?? so i can't see how mozilla keeps you logged in..
