I am starting a new website through Website Complete, few questions

Would website complete support Xoop, Wesbsite Complete supports MySQL and PHP hosting

Second, can I create my entire website through Xoop, including the blogging abilities?

I would love to create a website that functions like

http://www.dailykos.com, i like the functionaliy of having personal diaries, and also ability to post on open thread, would Xoop allow me to do that.

I would highly appreciate any help I can get? Please post or email me at

doriangray2@aol.com

Sincerely,

Dorian

Hi Dorian,

I won't be able to answer you questions regarding Website Complete, I'd say you'd be best off contacting them directly and asking these questions. As for a web log, have a look at the soapbox module, I think the release candidate of 1.5 is not long out.

Ok,Thanks. What about if I already have a website with many pages in it, can I just tack Xoop on my website?

I don't know of any way to convert an existing html site to an XOOPS site. The architecture is completely different. XOOPS is better than any html site that is out there because when you use php and MySQL you get a dynamic website as opposed to a static one. XOOPS will have all the functionality of the site that you mentioned. I would highly recommend you use xoops. It is th best cms that I've seen so far.

Thanks, so one must be very well versed in Html language, vs using Front Page or other program.

Hai Dorian,

at this moment I'm busy changing a static HTML site into a XOOPS site.
It's a lot of work, since I have not seen a possibilty to convert easily. The principles of both sites are too different, therefore I think this is impossible (at least in an easy way...).
I change the existing HTML pages by stripping them down: delete all the fancy stuff, menu's and extra's. What rests is the pure HTML of the content. I copy and paste this in WFsections (a great content management module), make a last few changes in layout, correct the path to the images and save it.

It is an investment in time, I agree, but it's worth it.

Greetings and success,

Ronaldus
