hi all

I was trying to use the addresses module and have the following problem.

I uploaded and installed the module.
Then in preferences changed the option to allow for anonymous posts.

I also changed the group setting for this module to allow anonymous posts.

The add address link is not visible! can someone help me out?

Thanks in advance,

cheers,
prasad..

The addresses module works the same as mylinks (after all it is a simple rewrite of this mod. )
Within the addresses module preferences/settings you have the setting: allow anonymous users to submit addresses. This is what you have to adjust to allow.
Don't know which addresses module version you have but on the Dutch XOOPS Support you can grab the latest 1.7.
See: http://xoops.jan304.org/modules/mydownloads/viewcat.php?cid=8

I know/saw there are several addressesmodule versions etc. around, all submitted by different kind of people. I have to admit this is somewhat confusing.
But: The original addressesmodule is made by me and the latest good working version is: addresses 1.7 Sometime ago I made it available on the DXS website as mentioned above. An english languagepack is included.
Have fun with it.

Ps: If you type on your website: http://www.weyeswe.org/modules/addresses/submit.php You'll see the submit appear, this means it works for anonymous users. Although strange (you are the first with this prob) it seems like there is an appearance bug within the 1.5 (?)

Copy the FILES within modules/system/... within the correct system directories.

Forget the system directory and its files. Don't load those files up. They aren't neccesary to run the addresses module properly. As a metter of fact since the changes of the XOOPS core files it 'll even be better to lewve those files alone.
!! Just upload the module addresses within the module directory and install it.
I don't understand why it is not working for you. I (and others) have it up and running without any probs. You are the first complaning about this.

Thinking about it,....what main menu are you using? The XOOPS standard main menu block or did you make your own menu block?
If it is the last you have to put in the addresses link by yourself! No module will after installation automaticly appear within your selfmade menublock!

hi

i havent put it in the menu yet! I have not uploaded the system files. Just the addresses directory into the module directory and then installed it. It didnot complain while installing.

After installation, it does everything properly. I mean if i try to add a address using admin it does it. Shows it.

The only problem is that it doesnt show the add address link for anony user or even for admin.

I changed the preferences to allow anony user.

Even if i didnot do it properly atleast for the admin it should show the link of "add address" it doesnt show that which is strange. If i go to

http://www.weyeswe.org/modules/addresses/submit.php

it shows the page there is no problem there.

Cheers,
prasad..

this is strange.. i used version 1.5 & 1.7 on my production site for over 8 months without any problems..

and anonymous users could submit and see the submit link in the menu aswell..

i installed this module 1.7 on my test server last night and it installed 1st time and every function is working as it should.. i tested with an anonymous and it all shows up fine to me..

i have just looked at your site and funny thing is, your menu is not the standard XOOPS menu block..

it has links in there to pages that aren't acxtual XOOPS modules.. ie. the emag goes to yoursite.com/emag/emag.php

this isn't a XOOPS menublock.. which is probably why you can't see it..

try using the default theme or enabling the main menu block in admin/blocks..

i should double check permissions and addresses preferences.. failing that,
