How to make the site available at www.domainname.com

Hi all, what do I have to do in order to make my site available at http://www.domainname.com instead of at http://www.domainname.com/xoops/html/ ??? Probably pretty simple -- tried to search but came up empty. Thanks for the help!

I want to be able to just type http://www.domainname.com. Right now I am just getting the "parked" page when I go to the domain name -- how do I make it go to the XOOPS login screen? (BTW, not sure why I posted this question in the Theme forum... should be in NOOB forum)

As I see your domain,

http://www.domainname.com/xoops/html

seem like it's wrong

You don't upload xoops/html folder

You upload whatever inside the html (don't include the "html" folder)

Your site should be like this:

http://www.domainname.com/modules/news

etc.

I know you just upload the whole extracted zip/tar file into the server.

You don't upload the doc folder and everything.

Don't drag and drop the html folder or transfer.

Drag and drop or transfer all those files inside the html.

You will need to edit the main.php files for the ROOT dir setting

or

you have to reinstall it freshly.

Hmmm... I did the install directly on the hosting server -- it's included in my hosting plan, I wonder if it screwed up somehow. Anyhow, the domain name is http://www.beerloverseverywhere.com, but I have to type in http://www.beerloverseverywhere.com/xoops/html/ in order to get to the login screen. I'm kinda lost, can I move this post to the Newbie forum?

Hi,

The problem is that you have put your XOOPS in a subfolde of your web space. If you want to have a http://www.mydomain.com you should have in the root folder of your web space the content of the html folder you can find in the XOOPS distribution.
If you would not have to install a new XOOPS at the root folder you can play with a frame but it's a pity for referencing
