The problem is that you have put your XOOPS in a subfolde of your web space. If you want to have a
http://www.mydomain.com you should have in the root folder of your web space the content of the html folder you can find in the XOOPS distribution.
If you would not have to install a new XOOPS at the root folder you can play with a frame but it's a pity for referencing
