If anyone has tinyD that will work with XOOPS 2.0.16, I would really appreciate it. It is a really handy module. Thanks!

I need a very simple weblinks module. Something like the old "mylinks" module would be perfect. I can't find it anywhere! I'm running XOOPS version 2.0.16 (on XSAS for now, not live on web). Any suggestions? Where can I find the old mylinks module?

Also, I really like the Liaise module, but it doesn't seem to work so well on XOOPS 2.0.16. The problem is that I want to put custom text above the form, e.g., company name, telephone number, etc., but the text doesn't appear. This module has worked well on older versions of xoops.

Help! Thanks!

Hi gang -

I'm curious to know if a module exists that would allow me to show the first X number of characters of a news item for Y number of seconds before scrolling to the next news item.

Thanks,

Hmmm... That is odd. I have two sites, one is running XOOPS version 2.0.7.3, the other 2.0.9.2. Both of them have all of these things:

Site Preferences

* General Settings [Edit]
* User Info Settings [Edit]
* Meta Tags and Footer [Edit]
* Word Censoring Options [Edit]
* Search Options [Edit]
* Mail Setup [Edit]

Ahh, yes. Once again, I learn something from Mithrandir. I have never noticed that the admin menu will automatically appear for a particular module.

You will have to hack the theme.html file. By default, the theme only displays the admin menu to people with webmaster status. So, simply change from <{if $xoops_isadmin}> to <{if $xoops_isuser}> and the admin menu will show up for all registered users, including webmasters.

This is an interesting question! Before I give my suggestion: let me first say that I am not a real coder, I haven't a clue about PHP or or mySQL, and this suggestion may be very complicated for someone who hasn't Xooped a lot (and it may not even work...)

Here's what I would do. Have your users upload their logo as their avatar (make sure to eliminate the minimum post requirement to upload avatar and allow a large enough image size). Then you will have to hack the theme you are using to show your standard logo UNLESS (the user is logged in AND the user has uploaded their own avatar). Of course, this could lead to some goofy looking web pages if the user's avatar is too big or too small...

This is the name of the variable that refers to a particular user's avatar: $user_avatarurl. So, to refer to it as an image using HTML you would write something like <img src="<{$user_avatarurl}>" alt="Logo" />. The conditional statement that would determine if the user is logged in AND has uploaded an avatar is beyond me but shouldn't be too tought to figure out if you know what you're doing.

Did you try Admin Menu --> System Admin --> Preferences --> Mail Setup?

I'm having difficulty envisioning this. Can you provide a link to the page with the problem, or describe the problem in more detail?
Thanks!

Just go into the Admin menu, click on System Admin, then Blocks. Change the Weight of the blocks to the order you want. A weight of Zero will be on top, followed by 1, 2, etc. If two blocks have the same weight, I believe they will be listed by alphabetical order.
