I have placed myself in the same configuration as you.
In your case, go in templates part of your admin panel.
Then, verify that beside the module's name (news), you can't see a number in red.

I think that in your special case, the problem is that one template is missing.

If you have some templates missing, generate then with the appropriate button. After, delete, still in the same part of your admin, the template named news_index.html (NOT THE FILE) and regenerate it. It should be ok.
