I think the mistake was mine, was the endendi with your last report his:

He created the folder and did not alter the programs to have no problem with older versions, not stirring images of the smilies and ranks, and they changed the data, smilies and ranks, bringing the folder into the data record along with the images.

Just make additions smilies and images of the ranks, without making any change in Xoops 2.5.0 Final.

It was the conclusion that I took, if anyone of the group of the developers can manifest imensamete I appreciate.


I'll be doing with this test procedure in Xoops 2.5.0 Final.

I did tests and found that there is that, in installing the images were placed in the database without the folders.

Return to the original and put the pictures again or correct the tables of the database xoops:


(pref) _smiles
Resized Image


(pref) _ranks
Resized Image


Reminded that the images have to be in the correct folder.

No... why, you did not make any mistake. If you check the core files (2.5.0), the images are in the folder uploads/smilies, ranks etc.

If you make a upgrade from a earlier xoops version, the images are already in the upload folder, thats true. If you install a new, clean and fresh xoops, not! And remember, we have the problem in the profile module too. So my meaning is, this is a bug, or i am wrong and misunderstand something? In my database the ranks images are as ranks........gif and not ranks/ranks.......gif

With a new installation with xoops 2.5.0, of the xoops.org, all reported errors that occurred no more, is here with me it worked perfect.

I think the problem is the installation on the database which does not put the folders of the corresponding ranks and smilies, but not sure.

The simplest workaround is to copy all the folders /uploads/smilies and /uploads/ranks to the folder /uploads.



Yes, I believe it is a bug.

Only for note. The bug already exist in the latest trunk version 2.5.1.

I met the same problem...

I solved it by removing .htaccess file in uploads folder and

I already informed about this bug from htaccess file...
