Thanks for the reply...yes, I tried <i></i> as well as <em></em>

I can get it to work by adding the italics in a style sheet, but adding other atributes to the italisized word will over-ride the style sheet attribute.

I'm sure this is a bug with Mastop Publish, which is a fantastic content tool

I'm using Mastop Publish and just noticed that I cannot Italisize a word. When I highlight the word and click the Italics Icon, it puts the code <em> word </em> in but won't display with italics.

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Hope this is the right place to post this. I was wondering if there is a way of chaning the ID# associated with each new Mastop Publish article. I need to rearrange the ID numbers.

Thanks in advance.

I just found this post and it's exactly what I've been looking for for weeks.

The code I'm using is:

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/.+/
RewriteRule ^(index(.php|.html|.htm))?$ /modules/mastop_publish/ [L]

I'm trying to get it to work with the Content Module ver 0.5.

Mastop Publish, AMS, and other work great but not the Content Module which still displays the long URL.

Thanks in advance.

I'm using a simple mod rewrite piece of code in an .htaccess file to set my first page with a simple url (http://www.site.com)

The code is:
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/.+/
RewriteRule ^(index(.php|.html|.htm))?$ /modules/mastop_publish/ [L]

This seems to work great, and I mean great with Mastop Publish, AMS, and a few others. I'm trying to get it to work with the Content Module, which still displays the long URL.

Does anyone understand what the problem may be. It's a slight bit over my head at this point.

Thanks in advance.

I'm using mastop publish and am trying to get the "Email this page to a friend" link to work so it show the page link in the email. Currently it displays ' ' with no link in between.

Anyone have experience with this.

Thanks in advance

Re: Short URL DIFFICULT HACK - HELP!

You'll have to excuse me avtx30 as I've spent a lot of time ending up at dead links trying to solve this. I've kept a log of those dead links...about 30 of them.

While I'm not new at XOOPS and have been designing sites for the last 6 years, I do run into issues beyond my skill set level.

My case in point is your direction to follow your instruction. Do I use GIJOE's method? Your method instructs the following:

First, add to your .htaccess file under XOOPS_ROOT_PATH so that it will look like this

http://www.nhatban.net/tmp/htaccess.txt

Finally, add to your mainfile.php under XOOPS_ROOT_PATH so that it will look like this

http://www.nhatban.net/tmp/mainfile.txt

Not too clear about the above.

Also, am I having an issue due to the fact of where my XOOPS application resides -

/public_html/cms/htdocs

If the file location is a problem than I would need to move the whole site...not something I'm looking forward to.

The fact that there are dozens and dozens and dozens of postings on this issue tell me that it's not an easy one to resolve....for many XOOPS users.

Thanks for you reply and help...

Thanks for the reply Trabis. Let me see if I understand. I've taken your code and put it into a file called "home.php" I've placed that file in the same directory where mainfile.php exists. Please excuse my lack of understanding here, but from this point what should I do..?

The goal is to changehttp://www.earthboundexpeditions.com/cms/htdocs/modules/content/index.php?id=1
to the following urlhttp://www.earthboundexpeditions.com (or as close as possible).

Thanks very much for you support and help with this.
