I noticed a fair number of people asking for a scheduling module and there doesn't seem to be one. So, I've modified the extCal module in an attempt to create a new module where I can create a shift schedule for volunteers, (specifically ski patrollers in my case). I think with a few minor modifications, it could be a useful and needed module. I'd be happy to turn this over to someone for further development, but I don't know how.
Two items I'd like to see are:
1. a simple email button where a user can send a request to users in their same group asking for a substitute.
2. Have the 'recurring event' function create a new and separate event. This is needed so when someone offers to substitute, they are only subbing for the specific Shift/Event, not every occurrence.
Where do I go from here?

Neeevermiind. It appears you're not allowed to hard code html into the article. You can only add links and formatting through the editor buttons and dialog boxes.

I'm using the news module and would like to have active links in the articles I post. I have html enabled.
I've tried adding <html> tags, and using the code generator.
Firefox browsers will display and follow the tags as far as the current module, but not to the specific article, while IE doesn't even see the tagged text as a hyperlink. Here's an example of text in my news article:

Features of PatrolWorld.com include: <br>
<a href "/modules/extcal/year.php">Events Calendar</a> which allows individual patrols the ability to post events and special dates...

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you ever get an answer on this? I seem to have a similar issue. I've installed 7 modules successfully, but if I install and activate any additional mods, I get the "You do not have the right to access this area" error message, when I try to change the blocks, then I'm logged out.
