I know Ive done this before but I can't seem to get it going just to add a couple links into the main menu to some misc pages.

I went to system admin>>blocks>>edit Mainmenu block>> but all it has is some html smarty tags and a view button.. no save button.

I tried to edit the template file itself but XOOPS just replaced it with the old one once I tried to change the permissions and upload.

Is there an easy way to edit this or maybe a module?

yeah I'm just lazy lol

That and it would be nice to have something simple my boss could edit out without having to deal with tables and the like.

I'm building a site for my computer store and although we haven't quite setup OScommerce just yet for selling online
"Takes a long time to make that thing work well"

We do however want to be able to throw specials on the front page and make it look good with images and such. I was wondering if there was a decent module I could use for this and just force that module to be the front page..

I thought about teh content module but once you pass through the front page of any item you can't add a picture from what I can remember about it.

Okay I think I got the most of that through the translation your saying this?

The modifications in XOOPS version 2 are mostly in the core programming. The modules are merely getting object oriented updates.

You have no disposition on the forum yet and may switch to a faster one in the future..

I like phpbb but I think I have just been spoiled by the invision board team. Mind you they are also all X crew from the ikonboard team bent on making the forum 3x better than ikon so your going to expect quality heh.

I should go grab the latest version of phpbb and install it to see what they have updated since I last tried it...
Have the fixed the sessions problem that happen within apache 2 and php4?

What made you choose that board for the XOOPS 2? I only ask because when you put it up against some other boards for example wwwthreads, invision, yabbse all make phpbb look very slow.

Now I can understand not using wwwthreads as its not a free script but there are so many more better free forum scripts..

What was it that made you choose phpbb.
