I'm re-loading PiCal to see if I had the wrong version or something. Is 0.7 the most current?

Calendars -- grrrrr

I'm having a terrible time trying to find a decent calendar that works with Xoops. I have an excellent one that I use on hand-coded sites, but trying to incorporate it into XOOPS for easy use by the people who'll be using the site -- impossible.

Anyway, I've installed & tried just about all of them, I think.

Is there one I've missed that incorporates:

--recurring events
--mini calendar in the side bar that shows current/upcoming events
--TIME slots (how stupid to have a calendar where you can't enter a time for events - why bother?!)

This seems awfully basic for none of the calendars I've seen so far to have all three. I'm searching for newest releases and highest rated, and hoping I've missed the Holy Grail of XOOPS calendar modules.

Help?

Thanks --

W

So far:
PiCal (doesn't seem to have a time function)
extCalendar (no recurring events)
AM Events (no time, I think, I forget why it didn't work well)

We used to have this kind of problem. We switched to Trend Micro PC-cillin and I never see my modem flashing unless I make a request. No intrusion attempts.

It has also seemed to vary a lot depending on who my internet provider is. Some providers have a lot of trojan-type spy crap that loads on their default installation, so you have to be careful. When we lived in CA, I forget the ISP, but it was constant. Here, hardly any problems.

Thanks!

I'm just learning XOOPS & it seems like half the battle is knowing which file to modify.

Thanks again --

Weather 1.3 - Resizing

Hi - I installed this module and it works really well, great graphics.

BUT - if I set up the site to have another column on the right, the weather layout (actual module page) gets all messed up. Is there a way to resize this, or open the "Forecast" link in a little window by itself (or another fix I haven't thought of)?

The layout of the site that was requested won't make it practical to have the right column disappear on that page.

Thanks!

(my first attempt at xoops, still playing with it)

Dumb Newbie Questions: Menus & Content

Hi all --

I'm new to Xoops, a web designer but I usually hand-code sites. I'm trying to use XOOPS for a non-profit org that needs to be able to manage the site on its own after it is set up & can't afford a custom site.

ANYway, I have some basic questions.

I put up the 7DanaRed and it has a menu at the top. Do I need to go into the files to change the menus, or is there a way to do this through the Admin? I can't find it.

Also, it seems really difficult just to do something such as create an "About Us" page and have a link in the left-column menu. I'm having trouble creating just the basic content pages, the heirarchy of the site. Do you have to set up a module to do this? I could hand-code these, I guess, but I need to have it in the admin so that the org can edit them later on their own.

I need the links at the top & then a full menu on the side. How do I start there?
