@ andrey & Mamba: Thanks its working now. Although very slow, it seems to be loading for a very long time but the message will normally show if I click refresh. Any reason for this or solution?

Otherwise Its clean and simple. Any plans to add rooms, invitations to rooms? Or am I asking too much? Otherwise how simple would it be to duplicate this module 6 or 7 times on one site, so that I could give 6 or 7 different user groups access to different chats (acting as rooms)?

I tried to install it but had a few problems.

It comes up on the 'install module' list without showing a picture. At the bottom of the page it says "Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found! "

I tired to install anyway but again a module picture didnt show when clicking install. Then when clicking, it reads "Module File for chat Not Found! over and over

Now I think it is listed on the installed modules list but as blank, no picture or title etc. I have a few modules do this and I cant uninstall them ?????

Apologies for my lack of technical skills. The glory of xoops is that you dont always need them, however you do rely on kind support.

Hi, hoped someone with good overal insigh might be able to help me with XOOPS Chat modules......

Is there a clean, smart, simple chat or IM that works straightforward?

My XoopsChat fails to install.
XPJIRC looks cheap and doesnt relate to the xoops users.
Chiefbutz has same problems.
XIM's footer bar shows for the main admin user but no other user (despite access rights set) and my website crashes every few minutes with it installed.
Buddyfriends seems to just be a front for Private message system? It only shows Admin user online, under list is shows other registered users, but if you click on "Ajouter" it just says "problem". And I keep getting blank messages from no real sender .
XooPopChat installs but has no pop up or chat, it simply says:

"XooPopChat Started
by compyright (c) Bluemoon inc. 2005"

I just want my users to be able to see all online users and chat in their own environment. Can anyone offer some advice?

Back using Xoops for the 1st time in a few years, appologies for the ignorance.

Just checking on this instalation prompt:

"5.For security considerations, you are strongly advised to move the two directories below out of document root and change the folder names:

xoops_lib
xoops_data"

I assume they are still needed, just put them in one of the other folders?
But then your asked to:

"6.Create (if not already present) and make the directories writable:
xoops_data/caches
xoops_data/caches/xoops_cache
xoops_data/caches/smarty_cache
xoops_data/caches/smarty_compile
xoops_data/configs"

Why ar ethey not already present? I assume xoops_data becomes your new name (e.g. new_name/caches) ?

But are these names (e.g. xoops_data/cahes) not refered to in the code?

Slightly confused, please help.

1.) What is the difference between extgallry and xcgal?
2.) I have the link "Plus d'infos et commentaires" in the lightbox view of an image (it takes you back to the image in the gallery) - How can I change this to english?
