Go to the module repository section under the Community tag at www.xoops.org. Here you shall find many modules which you can download and trasfer to your root directory at your host and then install them. After you install a module you shall start seeing the various modules.

News not displaying on home page as Top News or recent news.

The news displays under the news module but not in the top news or recent news link that i have created on the other pages....whats the answer to that?

My site name is www.desiresponse.org
when I click on the news module on the left nav bar i come across all the stories. However, the stories do not show up under the Recent Links and Top Story or Big Story in the main page.

click onhttp://www.desiresponse.org to see what I am talking about.

XOOPS_ROOT_PATH error

I get the following error on browsing my site (lets say www.mysite.org)

XOOPS path check: Script is not inside XOOPS_ROOT_PATH and cannot run.

My XOOPS physical path is defined as:

// Example: define('XOOPS_ROOT_PATH', '/home/content/m/y/s/mysite/htdocs');
define('XOOPS_ROOT_PATH', '/home/content/m/y/s/mysite/htdocs');

I think the other definitions are correct on my mainfile.php .

How can i define the root_path correctly?

Also my current virtual path is defined as follows:

http://www.mysite.org/htdocs.
Should i leave it like that or should i just point it tohttp://www.mysite.org. (FYI, I had initially created htdocs folder on the root and then copied all the htdocs folders including files into the root directory).

Looking for your help...please guide :)

Sam

Hi All...New to the development scene..so wud love your help. I successfully installed XOOPS and can see the XOOPS admin athttp://www.mysite.org/htdocs . I can login and change/edit preferences etc. under the admin.

However when I type the url for my sitehttp://www.mysite.org it still takes me to my earlier "site coming soon" page. My root directory currently has welcome.html page as uploaded by godaddy. What steps should I follow to see my website live using templates as provided by xoops.

1. Should I delete the welcome.html and welcome.html.bak file as uploaded earlier by my host?
2. Is there a file inside htdocs that I need to copy and paste into the root directory.

I would greatly appreciate your help...

Thnx Sam
