Dear all,

After installing Xoops-2.3.1, the website worked quite well (without any error). However, after few days, no user was able to register on the website, even as an administrator I was not able to login to the website. After entering the username & password, message appeared : thanks for logging in :. However, after that the page does automatically direct to the earlier page, i.e. again asking for the login.

To resolve the issue, it was tried to upgrade the XOOPS version 2.3.1 to 2.3.2a. However, I was not able to login to the administration menu.

Hence, finally fresh installation was made with Xoops-2.3.2. However, still I am not able to login to the administration menu.

Kindly advise what steps shall be taken ?

Thanks in advance

I have gone through all the referred articles, however, I couldn"t get the solution.

Quote:
Did you put the upgrade folder at the same level as the cache, templates_c and modules folders?

Yes. Upgrade folder is put at the same level as the cache, template_c and modules folder.

Also, I would like to inform you that even after overwritting the files in the folders such as cache, class , Modules etc., the site is still working well with the older version (XOOPS 2.0.10).

Please help.

Dear Forum moderator,

I am using XOOPS version 2.0.10 for the website. For upgrading the same to 2.0.15, the following procedure has been tried, as suggested :

The required files have been downloaded from the following location :

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/xoops/xoops-2.0.15.zip?download

1. Copy the content of the htdocs/ folder over your existing installation after having deleted "mainfile.php" and the "install" folder.
2. Delete the following folders and files (they belong to your old version and are not needed anymore):
class/smarty/core
class/smarty/plugins/resource.db.php
3. Empty the templates_c folder (except index.html)
4. Upload the upgrade folder to your site
5. Ensure the server can write to mainfile.php
6. Login using an administrator account
7. Access <your.site.url>/upgrade/ using your browser

However, while pointing the browser to the upgrade folder, it shows the error message that the page can not be found.

In addition to the above mentioned problem, I am geeting an warning message that mainfile.php is writable by the server. Even if, I change the permissions, automatically it becomes writable by the server.

Please help me.
