how to display multiple news topics on opening page?

I would like to open display "news" topics in addition to two other modules to be displayed on openinig web page of my web site.

to explain what I want, I can give example of XOOPS.ORG homepage. it has four topic windows in center frame XOOPS, MODULES,THEAMS, YAXS.

I tried to see in News module with no success. I tried searching on forums but no return.

Can somebody assist on this?

I am in search of a module which is user forum in nature but also can send emails and receive emails. I know Receiving emiails is possible but does naybody know hoe to post content in forum from email?

news 1.44 problem. please help

I set up new 1.44 on XOOPS 2.0.14 few days back. I was putting all required modules in place and then... last evening I posted my first news posting all worked fine.

this morning I see and what ?? news disappeared !!

first I thought I might have put wrong expiry date. so tried again. but now it does not even accept new posting.

- I tried from another PC thinking of cached results. No effect
- Tried disable/enable, Uninstall/reinstall NO CHANGE it allows me to post first news and then does not even alow to edit that.
- I have verified permissions are correct.

Any other place to see??

Is there any form generator with MySQL backend?

I am looking for forms with MySQL backend. I do not have big expectations from this type of Module but if it can give me basic form to gather data for about 10 fields, I will be happy.

I tried form generator modules in repository but could not find any.. does this mean nobody needed so far !! If I have acted like a blind, please point me to right place.
