It's newbb... I have a newbb block on the main page and it was hosing up everything. Seems like the forum is hosed...

Where could I turn for help on this module?

Judgin by the message in the Smarty Debug window, could my problem be with "Sorry, you don't have the permission ..." and my template does not handle it properly. If so, how do I clear it up?

I tried setting debug_mode to 3 (Smarty Debug) and I do get the smarty debug console. It talks about "db:system_userform.html" but I don't see that file in template_c. I can't find it anywhere really, is it in the DB?

I do have the system's ./modules/system/templates/system_userform.html

I am in big trouble with my XOOPS install and I don't know why. I changed nothing and this morning most of the pages are blank. I was assuming some kind of php error but I can't get any error info. I went in the DB and the debug_mode to 1 and 2 and I get nothing. I tried using php.ini file which is read according to phpinfo() but I still get no PHP errors per say.

I cleaned out cache/ and checked permissions...
I cleaned out template_c and checked permissions...
I cleaned out the xoops_sessions and xoops_online tables...
I sanity checked a few of the other tables (user table mainly) and they look okay.

I can't open up user.php or admin.php, most pages I try are just plain blank. Nothing. Just plain white. I *know* there are lots of forum topics out there with blank pages but I tried everything that was recommended and still get nothing.

The only page that return something so far is user.php but I don't get the login form. I get the header with banner ads and the footer, nothing in between.

I guess it could be a problem with templates since the user.php file is really not that long and should just bring up the login form:

I am totally lost here. I need help.

I am think I may try to re-install or upgrade to see if it helps but I HATE doing that on a broken site cause I'm not sure if I'm making things worst.

I have an XOOPS site which includes a small forum built using the XOOPS Forum module.

Does anybody know what the differences are between that module and a full standalone install of phpBB or SMF?

I am thinking of switching to a more feature rich setup and I have a few questions. I have access to SMF or phpBB. Does anyone know if I can convert my actual forums to these two? Can I integrate them and use my XOOPS user base for SMF and phpBB?

What I basically want is a nice, easy to manage forums, with the same look and feel as the main XOOPS site but I don't need to keep all the structure of XOOPS (menus and all) around. The main features I need are:

- google ad support
- attachments
- user space from Xoops
- fast and easy to use

Any feedback from experienced admins would be much appreciated.

If I wanted to run two XOOPS sites, on the same webserver but with different domain, could I somehow have them use the same user base.

The concept is to have two somewhat independant sites, that could have a different look and feel but part of the same 'network'. I figured since they would run on the same webserver with the same MySQL db in the backend, maybe I could share parts of the sites, including the user space.

I just decided to test my feed from QuickTime on a PC and even with replacing the "http://" with "icy://", the feed doesn't work. I guess I will have to see what's wrong with my Icecast/SimpleCast setup that my MP3 feed works in iTunes and Media Player but not on QuickTime.

I am running debaser 0.92 on my XOOPS site (http://www.scan60.com/), mainly for the InternetRadio piece. I have three feeds I put out and I use debaser to play them.

I have a couple of questions:

- Where is the best place to get help? Is there a forum somewhere with a lot of people with experience?

- As anyone ran into problem with playing from Macs. Seems like my Apple users can get the feed direct through iTunes but when they use my web interface, nothing comes up.

- Does anyone have any experience adding small ads in the player window?

I am really a noob when it comes to XOOPS but I like what I've seen so far. My site is taking shape nicely and working out the way I wanted to.

One question I have, a lot of Linux users complained that my InternetRadio stream (ogg vorbis format) was trying to use QuickTime pluggin.

Does anyone know what the code is to add XMMS as a playing in XOOPS and make sure it's the one picked when available for a .ogg.m3u stream.

On Windows IE it uses media player and works fine.
