Is it possible? I want to be able to make the groups have a post count so on the PD-Download module I can make only registered users with 10 posts download X (w/e file I choose). Or make the ranks be able to be used as groups too (but nothing to do with the blocks) just so I can use the post count for the selection of the downloads.
It sounds complicated, i know. Im sorry. I cant really explain it in any other way. I just want it so when members join, they need to post some before they can download a file. And if I can make the groups have a post count, then it would work.

Er, I cant seem to edit.
Ok, I figured it out it was in the visit.php file. I just deleted a few lines and its fixed now.
Just so I dont spam the forums, anyone know how to make the "ranks" be available in the list to download permissions? Like when you create the download file, you chose the groups that can download...well can the ranks also be added in that list too somehow? I want the downloads to somehow be more controlable by how participant the members are.

Alright, I understand.
I turned it on, and added my site to the list acceptable, hoping it would go through. It does. But, it still doesnt work.
When you click the download button, and you get sent to the download page w/license, it should say something like:
[image] Download in Progress
Your download should start in 1 seconds...please wait.
If your download does not start, Click here! (this Click Here! button gives the direct link...thats where I cannot have it give the link).
Any ideas? I do appreciate it.

Well, if I turn that on, I cant use URL's to add my files...I need to use URL's because I already have all the files uploaded to the server and uploading again will waste much time. Not to mention, 2mb limit, and alot of my files are above 10mb.
Is there a way to have that on, and still use links to add files?

I noticed with EVERY one of the download modules on here all allow for the direct link to the file. There is a hack for the WF-DOwnload system, but you need a server for that (not a host) and I dont have one. So, could it be possible to somehow make it so it never shows the REAL link to the file?

erm. It would be good if you guys could just answer his question...as I would like to know the same. Why would it be "cops do this if they suspect...."? He means to make vBulletin work with xoops...thats just common sense when you read it...
So, IS there a way to do this? If so, how could it be done.

Ok, if anyone has tried the osCommerce module, im sure you will know what Im talking about. When you make a product under the category of your choice, you go to the product. Then you get a nice, clean page of a image and info about it. Then at the bottom it gives you a link to the site you may want to link to.
Thats something what I want, without the store. I want a page thats clean like that, and doesnt have anything else on it. I also need it to be sometype of module as it needs to be a link on one of my sides of the forum.

Ah, yep. You got it right on the ball. I accidently copied it to the root folder, and I was trying to put the originals of the index.php and header.php files back, but it wasnt working. I didnt know about the xoops_version.php one. I didnt think it touched that one.
But, the reason why I did that, is because I thought it was like the IPB forum. You get it, and it has similar folders as the contact one did. I thought you just place it in there, and would overright the correct files, and I would be on my way. Didnt know it was a module.
Anyway, its all fixed. I didnt know what else to do, So I just reinstalled, and its all back up now. Its just taking me alittle more effort to get it all back on. And to everyone else, that is a MODULE lol. If I wasnt the only one thinking that....probably was.
