I got this from my system operator today:
Resized Image
Some module in XOOPS is eating up all the CPU. Has this happened to somebody?

Only way around it, is to use URL rewriting techniques, which have been covered in the forum before.

Yes, I was trying to find that, but without any luck. Another reason I asked, is that Google is starting to display "subresults", it might help with that:

This has probably been discussed millions of times before, but is there a simple way of getting rid of the /modules/ part of the XOOPS urls?
Ok, changing .htaccess to turn on url rewrite to get rid of the /modules/ part is easy, but the problem is that /modules/ seems to be hardcoded everywhere, both in the core and modules.
Has anybody tried to do this?
The problem is that for example Google downgrades urls with long pathnames, and it is not very pretty.

Interlinking content?

This is regarding the news module, but I think this question would concern XOOPS modules in general. What I want is a some way of interlinking news item with other content on my website.
My website contains a database of cameras and lenses, and I would like to create links between each news item and camera/lens. For example if a news item contained a news about specifice lens, I would like to show a link directly to that lens. And of course, the lens page would contain a link back to the news item.
Is there a standard way of doing this? I could do this in the custom part, just mark the news item that are relevant, but it would of course be nicer if this was in the news submit form.
And I would have to customise the news display page...

Anybody done something similar?

Yes, that seems to be it.
Yet I don't want users to edit their submissions. I was hoping that the admin were all-powerful.
Oh well...

I am going crazy, I've tried everything, but I am not able to edit submitted news, even as a Administrator.
When I click "Edit" (...news/submit.php?returnside=1&op=edit&storyid=433) XOOPS keep telling me that I don't have permission to access this area.
What can I possibly do?

Found it.
It seems that the modules needs to be in the main menu to show up on the groups page.
$modversion['hasMain'] = 1
did the trick. Still doesn't make sense.
Thank you guys.
