Before upgrading my system to 2.5 from 2.13, I would like to approach carefully. Should I go directly from 2.13 to 2.5? or need to do something between?

That's what I did. I have wfchannel as the start page.

What should I have inhttp://www.mysite.com/index.php then?

How to set the module as my home page? In other words, what is the usual way to do it?

Thanks,
VM

I am still not sure why you are editing the XOOPS core. You can set the module as your home page without touching the core.

No they didn't upgrade apache/php.

http://www.mysite.com/modules/wfchannel works fine. How should I change www.mysite.com/index.htm point tohttp://www.mysite.com/modules/wfchannel for a short term soltion, without using require_once()?

Thanks!

Removed wfchannel as the starting page. Doesn't work. Same error messages.

Xoops core version 2.13
Wfchannel version 1.07

The site has been up and running for 2 years, until allow_url_fopen disabled last week. I really want to get it up again soon.

Thank you for helping!

Recently my hosting company disabled allow_url_fopen and making my site not accessable. I received this error msgs:
Warning: require_once() [function.require-once]: URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration in /home/mysite/public_html/index.php on line 2

Warning: require_once(http://www.mysite.org/modules/wfchannel/) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: no suitable wrapper could be found in /home/mysite/public_html/index.php on line 2

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'http://www.mysite.org/modules/wfchannel/' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/mysite/public_html/index.php on line 2

Inhttp://www.mysite.org/index.php I have:
<?php
require_once('http://www.mysite.org/modules/wfchannel/');
?>

Any suggestions? Any help will be deeply appreciated.

Thanks

VM

Just for the benefit of my users:

If I create a subdirectory for my user to access a specific page, say fromhttp://www.mysite.com/cdt to link tohttp://www.mysite.com/modules/wfchannel/index.php?pagenum=16&link=dance

I should create an index.html underhttp://www.mysite.com/cdt, right? How inside the index.html file to call the link?

Thank you in advance!

VM

Can anyone help me on this:
I moved all files from the old site, modified mainfile.php and DB. everything seems working properly. Now I just found out I can't install new modules. I FTPed all files to the right place including the xoops_version.php file. I can't see the new mudule icon from the module admin page. I tried clean up the cache and template_c directories but doesn't help. I tried to change theme and update all existing modules including the system module, but the problem is still there. What else I could do?

Any advice will be appreciated!

Vincent
