slight bug on activation email. X 2.2

i noticed yesterday, when i registered on my 2.2 test install.. (fresh installation)

thevirtual url on instalation doesn't show thecomplete url only the subs.

ie. http://www.domain.com/test22

it only shows /test22

which is fine as once installed, it adds the domain to the beginning.

but the activation email ddn'tshow this..

when i received the email the activation link only showed as :

/test22/modules/profile/activate.php?op=actv&id=5&actkey=db67677d
therefore it wasn't a clickable link and i had to manually add the doain http to the beginning.

it worksfine if i manually add it to the virtual url path in mainfile.php tho

I also have this problem. I added it in the mainfile.php but nothing changed?? Or do i need to do something extra?

I had this problem too - to work around it I modified the /modules/profile/language/english/mail_template/register.tpl file.

Look for the {X_UACTLINK} line, and enter http://yoursite.com in front of this :

http://www.yoursite.com{X_UACTLINK}

This is working now - although i do get an odd referring message as the constant appears to be undefined, but the account does activate properly.

This should tide us over until there is a fix... or proper suggestion.

yes this is actually due to a new feature, the relative path in mainfile.php. Good call, we'll add this to the patch (or make sure the activation link code contains the full path, including the URL).

Hello. I have done the fix to the register.rtf file, however, the problem still occurs in the activation email.

When I check the register.rtf file on the server, it reflects the updates that I have made yet the email that is sent still has the exact same format as before the changes.

What is going on here? Please help. Thank you.

I had the same problem here but with a few more issues

Email template bug

Adding the {SITEURL}tag doesnt fix it because in the email where {SITEURL}is at the bottom it doesnt show the full path either. In mine it shows (/members/) which is the subdirectory that XOOPS is in.

I guess for now adding http://www.4wheelers.com in front of the SITEURL tag will work. But dont forget to check the url at the bottom of the email where it shows the sitename, website url and admin email.

When I updated the register.rtf file both ways, adding the URL manually and by code, nothing changed. Even the text changes (altering the salutations) I made did not show up in the activation email that was generated.

What's going on?

Zerowan, are you sure you have the right file? It should be register.tpl not register.rtf. Maybe thats why its not working, you have the wrong file extension on it. Also make sure you are uploading it to the right directory.

/(XOOPS_DIRECTORY)/language/english/mail_template/
