Block displaying top news section articles??

Hi, is there such a block that will display the latest news articles from lets says 3 or 4 categories?

Example i have a category in news call "A" and another call "B". I have 3 articles in each catetory and i just want a block that i can place on the home page and display the top or latest article in A and then bellow a window displaying the top or latest article in B....Is there such a module out there?? Can anyone point me in the right direction about doing this?

Changing Database

Hi am in the process of changing MySQL database to another MySQL datbase on another server, am gonna copy the database but i need to know where do i go to change the database address, settings, username, password ect? am using XOOPS 2.0.9.2.

is there a good newsletter module out there?

I need a good newsletter module, that collects email address and allows me to send them all a letter at the same time (the basic concept behind a newsletter) users dont have to be members of my site to subscribe. I have tried and tested PP-News and EvenNews Mailer but none work right for me is there another newsletter module out there i can try?

Anybody else, anything i can do.... what charset or collation should i be using for a spanish site??

Hi Hervet,
MySQL connection collation is set to "utf8_general_ci", did you guys found a solution for the XOOPS france site?
What else can i do to fix this?

Hi, iam using MySQL 4.1.8-nt.
running PHP version 4.3.6 on NT server.
And am not using any XOOPS or multilanguage hacks.
Would this have anything to do with MySQL charset? for this my setting is "UTF-8 Unicode (utf8)"
MySQL connection collation is "utf8_general_ci".
Any ideas??
