Hello. i have been using XOOPS for my site more than two years. my site is wargaming.sk . now i am trying to do some SEO optimizations and my biggest concern is how to remove the "/modules/news" from the main page url. that is because url wargaming.sk/ has google rank 4 and wargaming.sk/modules/news/ has google rank 2.
i see that xoops.org page has done this somehow.

Hi!
i have recently moved an old 2.0.9 site to a new webhosting, upgraded to last versions, also i have upgraded to latest versions of modules CBB and xcGallery. everything works ok now (after a lot of work), except for one thing:

the redirect pages (which shows after login, after submission to forum, after admin actions, etc..) are not redirecting me automaticaly when using firefox browser (i have to follow the "if you have not been redirected automaticaly..." link)

however, it works in IE.

i think, that the problem occured after upgrade of xcGallery module (from 1.0 to 2.02 version)

can it have something to do with PHP notice:

Object of class XoopsUser could not be converted to int in file header.php line 92?

the page url is here:
http://217.67.30.24/wargaming.sk/modules/newbb/

and phpinfo here:
http://217.67.30.24/wargaming.sk/phpinfo.php

Hello i have just transfered the site to a different host.
among other problems the newbb module stopped working - when i click on topic or a forum i get _MD_ERRORFORUM error.
the php debug prints (among other notices) this:

Quote:

Notice [PHP]: Undefined variable: HTTP_SERVER_VARS in file modules/newbb/config.php line 44
Notice [PHP]: Undefined variable: HTTP_SERVER_VARS in file modules/newbb/config.php line 44
Notice [PHP]: Undefined variable: HTTP_GET_VARS in file modules/newbb/viewforum.php line 34

i use PHP Version 5.1.2
and regiser globals is ON

can anyone help? ..i tried to search for error messages above on this forum but had not found anything usefull

[b]EDIT:[b]
i have been using XOOPS 2.0.9 (on PHP4) - after moving the site i hoped to fix the problem described above by installing patches - so i gave upgraded to 2.0.13.2 - but it did not help to solve the problem

that didn§t work :(
when i try show character set i get the list and cp1250 is there. i tried to put also these commands to common.php right after the DB connection:
$xoopsDB =& XoopsDatabaseFactory::getDatabaseConnection();

$xoopsDB->query('SET CHARACTER SET cp1250;');

$xoopsDB->query('SET character_set_client=cp1250;');

$xoopsDB->query('SET character_set_connection=cp1250;');

$xoopsDB->query('SET character_set_results=cp1250;');

on my site in language file global.php i have set character set to windows-1250.
when i post to forum, with characters like ľščťžýá (slovak) i get question marks and stupid characters in the post. but when i switch XOOPS to language, which uses utf8 encoding - everything works OK. but i would like to use cp1250, since my XOOPS translation is in this encoding and also the old database...

hi. i have transferred my site from one hoster to another. the old DB uses encoding cp1250, but the new sql-server uses utf-8 by default so the texts from db now look wired.
i think, that problem is, that when XOOPS connects to db and asks for char-encoding the db says: utf8 and XOOPS uses utf8. is there a way to force XOOPS to use cp-1250 when connecting to DB?

..i'm not a php or MySQL expert, so maybe i am not right...

thanx in advance for your help.
