Hi again guys

Unbelievabley this dead admin problem is back on the same site .
This is the only XOOPS site that I have out of quite a few that is doing this, and it is driving me a tad nutty

I made sure that gzip was not armed and still only have a few seemingly dead links at the top of the admin pages .

I have not been editing anything on the website since the last time it played up, so it cant be that I have broken it.

Strangley enough , some of the module admin pages like the FAQ.s work fine ...

any clues from anyone again would be much appreciated

Thanks guys
I shot a support request into our server techs to see if they had any ideas , but they claim it must be in the script somewhere. They are checking a few other things at the moment though and I will wait and see..

I did try the login twice David and that did not effect or solve the problem , but thanks mate .

I will try MOnty's suggestions now .

thanks for replying

Hi guys ..

It has not been my week so far

On one of my own support websites, myself and the members seem to have lost the abillity to login ..
I cant even get to the site admin to check anything, because the page that loads after trying to login as admin has no access to the admin link ...
(because it is not logging me in at all)

When anyone, including myself as admin logs in, the thankyou for logging in page shows no probs , but when it redirects to the normally logged in page , it only goes back to the original not logged in front page, and with no warning or anything ... It just goes back to the original page that everyone normally logs into ..

I tried registering as a new member to test things out and it takes new registrations no probs , then sends the confirmation email out no probs, with the confirmation link as normal ....but when I tried to login using my new test registration name and password , same thin happens .... it say thankyou for logging in, no probs , but it then re directs to the normal front page as " not logged in " with no access to any modules ?

Something is definately weird..
This site has been up for 12 months and has got hundreds of members and has never had a problem..

Everything else seems to be working , including the fact that the site goes through all the right motions of registering new users and logging me in,.... except that at the end of all these proccesses it does not??

I do know my server moved all our accounts just last week to upgrade the service ..
Could they have changed anything ?
Could a change with file permissions on the server cause this ?

Any clues as to where I start looking for the answer to this my second website down this week would be very appreciated again ..

Thanks Biteronboard..

The website owner has access , but I dont think she would have played with those settings ..

The problem is that the link to user groups is one of the ones that does not wqork , so checking that is a bit of a problem too...

I have definatelt thought about rebuilding this particular website and reverting to the earllier XOOPS .. that I used to use for all my client member stly websites .

I found the earllier versions fantastically stable and so far I have only used 2.2 on one new client site ( thank god ) ...
Un fortunately this website is quite big , so re setting it up wont be a 5 min job

thanks anyway mate for your reply ..
any other suggestions you have are still welcome

Hi guys ..
One of my XOOPS 2.2 websites Admin areas seems to be dead .
The website its self is working fine , but the admin is just about completely dead ..

I can login to it no probs and the full Admin menu loads with no obvious problem,
... but when I hit on just about any of the links on the top control bar it takes me to a normal looking admin page that only has 2 or 3 links to" Preferences" and " Actions" at the top, and all of these links are dead and go know where.

If I hit on modules admin then click on system , it loads that page fine , but when I click on any of the system links, the same dead page loads ?

I did have an internet speed problem myself the other day while working on this website through FTP , and I think a file may have not reloaded or edited correctly or become corrupt due to this ..

any clues as to which files I would have to check or replace to bring life back to my Admin , would be much appreciated..

Hi guys and gals

On a few of my last projects, I used the latest version XOOPS with the standard modules.

I know on the earllier versions that getting the "who is online" setup, was easy but ...

I was wondering if anyone can steer me at the best way to get the who is online happening again on the latest version installs ..

I am using the extended profiles and a few other addon modules but cant seem to figure out which module will suit the latest version or if the "who is online" is already hidding within the latest version already ? and I am just going blind

Yer I know I sound like a newbee to XOOPS but I have already setup many websites over the last few years using the earllier versions with no probs..

If anyone can steer me in the right direction I would be much appreciated

thanks heaps again ..

Steve from Australia

Yes I can understand that Lance..
The url can get a bit out of control with some longer named modules

I found what I think is GiJoes version of tinycontent here ..

thanks again

Thanks mate ..
May I ask for quick directions to where GIJoe's version may be found

before I asked this question in here ...
I did try to hack the original version of tinycontent to achieve this with some success, but I must have missed something because it was not working quite right ..

thanks again from

Hi guys
I was wanting to know if re naming a module so that the url does not look out of place was easy or possible?

I am using TinyContent, which by the way is a great little html page addon module ,.... the best one that I have used , and I have used them all at some stage or other ..

I was hoping that someone could steer me at a post regarding this or could give me the short version on how to change the module name so that the url matches the wensite ..
eg/
instead of:
www.myclientwebsite.com/tinycontent/
to......
www.myclientwebsite.com/members/

thanks heaps and I highly recomend that Tinycontent module to anyone looking for a great, easy to use module for adding content in any form to their website
