Hi Guys,
I may be barking up the wrong tree but I noticed a problem with my XOOPS site when messing around today.

I've installed my site at a subdir or one domain ie www.mydomain/blah and XOOPS works fine, I then implemented forwarding from www.completelydifferentdomain.com to www.mydomain/blah as the domain hosts for my client sucks and I open the XOOPS site in a frame so the address bar stays the same.

During my testing phase I've been using Firefox on a linux machine and its all worked fine, but today when I was messing around on a windows machine with IE it kept on logging me out every time I clicked a link.

Is this a problem with opening XOOPS in a frame or am I looking in the wrong place?

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in mainfile.php

Hi Guys,

I'm uploading a website to a server that until recently was hosted on my own machine,

I've followed the instructions and uploaded a like for like copy chaned mainfile.php to correspond with the new site but now when I try and launch it I get,

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in d:\wwwcom\social\dontdelete\mainfile.php on line 38

In my mainfile it looks like,

define('XOOPS_ROOT_PATH','d:\wwwcom\social\dontdelete\');

define('XOOPS_URL','http://www.socialenterprise.co.uk/dontdelete');

etc etc etc

So I can't really see what the problem is the only idea I had was that I have to type in url/index.php as it doesn't allow directory listings, would that be an issue or have I done something really stuipd??

Cheers

Tom

Hi Guys,

I've installed XOOPS to my local machine which runs MySQL 4.1.21. It all runs fine and the testing has checked out. Now I want to back it up and run it on my website hosts MySQL server which is an older 4.0.24 version, but I've hit a problem.

I backed it up with:

mysqldump --add-drop-table -h localhost -u ***** -p socialenterprise2 | bzip2 -c > socent.bak.sql.bz2

I then unzipped it and tried to upload with:

mysql -h mysql4.streamline.net -u ******** -p wamonline < socent.bak.sql

First it complained that

ERROR 1064 (00000) at line 21: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8' at line 28

So in the database dump I removed

DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8;

Now when I try and upload it I get

ERROR 1064 (00000) at line 21: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'LOCK TABLES `xoops_ams_article` WRITE' at line 29

Is there a way around this for example to export with an older syntax or is it a no go??

Cheers

Tom

Local installation of XOOPS w/ Apache 2

Hi Guys

For the last few days I've been playing around with a XOOPS installation I did on my webserver with Apache 2. Anyway I've designed a site I'd like to try out in the wide world with some people and I'm having some difficulty.

On the serverhttp://localhost works fine and the site runs like a dream. If I type in my dyndns server address on the server it too returns me tohttp://localhost so its looping ok.

But if I try to access the site on my firewall or from further afield we get different problems.

On my firewall my site doesn't load when pointed at my local ip address with a reply along the lines ofhttp://blah.com/modules/ams connection refused.

When I switched the site off, the site maintenance sign is there with the log in script but of course this doesn't work refusing connection to user.php

So now I am guessing it to be one of 2 things either an apache permission error or a mainfile.php.xoops configuration problem.

I dont think firewall issues will be what the problem is here...

Any ideas guys??

Hi,

Last night i was installing some new modules, istats and popnupblog, and everything was fine, i went to bed and when i got up today all my icons in the administration page had magically vanished.
The page loads with no errors, but none of the icons are there just a little graphic that says 'menu'

Any ideas?
I'm guessing it a file permissions thing but i was wondering if anyone else had any ideas?
Thx
tom
