I'm still confused. I went into the admin panel, cleared out what was in the footer box, inserted the disclaimer, and it still does not show.

I can't access the HTML file because a friend set it up and I have no idea how to FTP into it and alter the HTML file.

I also still don't understand why the news appears on the main page but not in the block listings, and why I can't put a disclaimer block below the news blocks on that link I provided.

I don't get it. Everything was fine, then today I got to my site and certain blocks on the left side no longer appear on certain pages, like the forums page. When I go into the Admin menu, and try viewing blocks (no matter which options I choose), the site lists no blocks at all. I try accessing all, visible, invisible, whatever. It's as if the blocks menu disappeared.

Any ideas what could be happening?

Ok, I've been messing with this for a week now. I added a block to my site to work as a disclaimer. Here's the site:

http://bip.mortality.net/modules/news/index.php

Notice how the disclaimer appears above the news items? I have it weighted at 4, and the recent topics rated at 1. But no matter what I do, the disclaimer refuses to appear at the bottom of the page. Any ideas WHY?

I'm a new user, and I am having excessive problems registering two users. I have 12 people successfully registered, and they reported no problems. But two others can't register. I'll give the details as follows.

When they try to register, they receive an error that says "could not register new user". I tried adding one of them manually, since she's going to be a moderator. I set her to moderator, I enabled her to post in the Admin/staff private forum, all the settings are right. She can now sign in, but when she does she cannot post PMs or post to a forum. If she tries to post to a forum, it says "could not insert forum post". If she tries to send a PM, it says "errors:none go back", but it doesn't get sent. She can read forums though and she can RECEIVE PM's, she just can't send or reply.

She's using Windows XP Home, IE6.0, has Zone Alarm Pro Firewall and Norton Antivirus.

We tried disabling both Zone Alarm and Norton so that she had no firewall or virus scanner running, deleted her cache, temp files, cookies, cleared history, etc. Had her reboot, kept the firewall and virus scanner off, and still the same problem. She cannot register, and if I register her, she cannot post in forums or PMs.

We ran Ad-Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy and removed all spyware, rebooted, did all the other stuff mentioned above, and still no go.

So we tried installing Firefox as a browser and that did not help. I'm bald now from tearing my hair out and am about to start removing wisdom teeth with needle nose pliers!

Can anyone tell me what could be going on, or at least point me in the right direction? Yes, she has scripting enabled, cookies enabled, etc, etc..

She cannot register at any XOOPS site (she tried several just to see if it's a bug only on our site). She can however register and post to similar websites such as:

http://www.mortality.net

http://grognardstavern.proboards29.com/

This is the site we're having the problem with:

http://bip.mortality.net/modules/news/

Three days of systematic troublehooting and my nerves are frayed. Can anyone please help?
