How about a module where people may put email addresses of their friends in, and XOOPS sends them an email asking them to join the site? It should only send an email if they are not already a member of the site.

Does this module exist? If so, where can i get it?

xhld module: problems with ampersand

I am running xhld 2.75 (at least thats the version in the xoops_version file), and it works fine on the test server, however, when i upload it to the main server it doesn't work. It takes ampersands out of links. So, for example:
This is what's in the XML:
http://us.rd.yahoo.com/dailynews/rss/mostviewed/*http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&u=/nm/food_mcdonalds_dc

it turns into this:
http://us.rd.yahoo.com/dailynews/rss/mostviewed/*http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2u=/nm/food_mcdonalds_dc

Without the ampersand.

It seems like a really strange problem. The only server differences i can see is that the test server is running PHP 5.0.2 and the production server is running PHP 5.0.3.

I'm thinking it could possibly be a problem with the SaxParser...

Has any one else run into this issue? Is there a fix or a better news solution?*/

I was trying to find a block that displayed the news similar to the way it is displayed in "Latest XOOPS News" on the XOOPS front page. It would display many news stories at once. I could not find this block in the XOOPS distribution. I have made every News block visible, and nothing. Where do i get that block?

I'm programming a module that allows users to go to different locations on the globe. I need to add a Meta tag to the header of the page. Is there any simple way that I can add stuff to the header of a page in XOOPS?

I can't get the comments to show on my site. Yes, I have set the Recent Comments block to visible on all pages. I have clicked on edit button for the block. Nothing works.

Is it because I am using 2.0.9b?

In a related question, How do I get different comments to show up for different pages for a module I have built. For example, In the news module, for different news stories there are different comments. I guess the comments are set by using the id of the story. How do i get my own module to have comments like that?

Synikal, it seems that bd_csmc is talking about a much basic and better solution with the same/better results which will work with the search adn with a lot of modules, and which will improove all the content flow in xoops.

Well... Whatever form it takes... I could really use it now. :) Hopefully the powers that be will decide to move in this direction ;)

Has any one made a favorites module where you can mark your favorite locations within xoops? If not:

I was thinking about making this, the only thing it may require is 1) the ability for each module to give thier elements (topics, blogs or whatever) a unique Id, and then 2) for each module to have a function which can translate those ids into a URL.

I could figure out how to do 1, 2 is a little harder. I couldn't think of a way to store each modules URL function into some kind of config file, and have it updated automatically when a new Favorites enabled module is added. Any one have any ideas?
