I installed xoops2-mod-ircmod_2_0 and got it setup.

My problem. It doesnt save the settings i make. rendering the module useless until i fix this. now in the instructions below (which are directly from the readme.txt) it says to check group permissions but doesnt tell me on what files. so i CHMOD all the files included with the module and im still not getting a satisfying result. if anyone has any experience with this module please help me :)

####Installation instructions####
- Unpack ircmod repertory.
- Edit file "background.gif"
- Upload ircmod repertory on your server into the modules rep
- Activate module into your XOOPS administration, and define your own settings. Don't forget to check group permissions!
- Have fun!

Where to begin?! anyways. I have tried installing many different modules. very few work right for me.

I use cpanel to extract my zip files into the modules folder. say for example. i downloaded the xoopscount module and uploaded it to the site. i extracted it to the modules folder. where it then proceeded to create its on subdirectory in the modules folder. i go to the admin panel and find that it says "Module File for xoops2-mod_xoopscount_v2_0_2 Not Found!" this is the case with just about every module i have tried installing. I get this with all the IRC modules too!.. I'm getting frustrated and don't know what to do :(

please help

Thank you in advance
