I know very little about MySQL outside of what I can do throught phpMyAdmin, so I relied upon this Unix to Human time converter to convert the dates from how I understand them to how the the OS reads them.

You insert the human date and it spits out the unix date: newbie-MAGIC!

Depending on the type of router you are using, there are various ways to forward requests from the outside world to specific ports on the inside of your LAN. The default for all routers that I can think of is to drop all requests from the WAN that don't originate from inside your LAN. It is a basic security issue that can most likely be resolved by reading some FAQ's on the DLINK or whatever router you are usings homepage. I had this problem before. I had to use my routers VIRTUAL HOSTING feature. Also... ISP's often block incoming requests to port 80. I'm on Comcast right now and they leave my ports alone, but Charter used to block all kinds of ports. Ok...getting back on track....make sure that all requests to port 80 or whatever port you have apache or IIS listening on are forwarded to the network address of the machine hosting your website...it will be an ip address like 192.168.0.* or something like that.
