I have just dug around and I think (though I haven't confirmed) that they have decoupled Apache from PHP and are now using PHPsuExec to handle the PHP as a CGI script.

New Error - White Screen of Death

I am getting the dreaded White Screen of death.

The other day, my server had a router problem. For about a week, I was getting the White Screen of Death, with only warnings on my site.

Starting yesterday, all was well. The site worked fine. I have not done anything to the site other than occasionally delete the files in the templates_c folder.

Today, I got the WSOD again. Debugging was already on, so I set the pHP debug in .htaccess. I get the following message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: strcut() in /home/perfectr/public_html/modules/popnupblog/PopnupBlogUtils.php on line 276

Googling this I only get the following Japanese page:

Any other ideas I can try? What might be going on?

Wierd!!

I didn't have time to get back to the site. Finally this morning I figured I'd go delete the directory and re-upload XOOPS from a backup.

Guess what? The site is working fine.

WTF???

/me shakes head...

Thanks for the reply.

I see that there are only notices....hmmm.

Um, the site gets whitescreen now. Nothing is returned. I thought it might be the templates_c folder, so I emptied that. Nothing. I then turned debug on in MySQL and this is what I get.

Can't figure it out.

A full description of the issue:

On Saturday, my web host begun to have router issues. This was resolved on Sunday. I have seven sites hosted with this host (a reseller account) and four of them are Xoops-based.

All sites except one came up just fine. Here are the messages I get when I go into SQL and set debugging = 1.

Prior to Saturday, the site was running fine and no changes have been made since early last week. I googled this and found that the issue usually revolves around PHP versions. However, like I said, I have three other XOOPS sites running just fine on the same host.

How did you go about adding a block? This is exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for.

News (or other) module as full article

I'd like to have a full article published on the front page as a block. I am currently doing it on a few of my sites by publishing a news article then copying the html from the article and pasting in a custom html block on the front page.

Is there a better way to do this? I'm thinking I'd like a "latest published article" type block which shows the full contents of the latest article/news in a block.

Ideas?
