Just done a clean install of 2.0.7.1 There are some funny probelms though. I had a correct install sequence with do problems indicated, but now I have this on my home page

Header shows--- "cated */ class Database { function &getInstance() { return XoopsDatabaseFactory::getDatabaseConnection(); } } ?>"

PHPdebug shows---

Warning [PHP]: session_start(): Cannot send session cookie - headers already sent by (output started at /home/clondicke/public_html/class/database/database.php:143) in file include/common.php line 179
Warning [PHP]: session_start(): Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /home/clondicke/public_html/class/database/database.php:143) in file include/common.php line 179

Another thing. Admin notice tells me to make my mainfile.php 444 but when I do this it resolves back to 644 by itself.

What can be the problem please

You will need to use php includes to get this code to work.

How do I put the contents of any block into the top header bar. For exazmple, I used this news scroller block template code and inserted it in my theme.html in the header bar, but it doesnt work.

<table class="outer" cellspacing="1">
<tr>
<td><marquee behavior="scroll" direction="left" scrolldelay="90" scrollamount="9" onMouseOver="this.stop()" onMouseOut="this.start()">
<{foreach item=news from=$block.stories}>
<a href="<{$xoops_url}>/modules/news/article.php?storyid=<{$news.id}>" title="On (<{$news.date}>)"><{$news.title}></a> |
<{/foreach}>
</tr>
</marquee>
</td>
</tr>
</table>

Any advise on this please???

Thanks

Hello All

I've just recently installed the latest version of XOOPS - have to say it is a fabulous CMS and I *love* the soapbox module

I want to run a forum on my site and so far have been running a 'discussion group' on Yahoo (am I allowed to say that word here? ).

I despise several things about Yahoo - the subliminal advertising, the fact that spammers can post adverts for child porn and penis enlargements (don't need me one of those ) and that to retrieve messages on the web means ploughing through unwanted advertisments, *but* Yahoo does have some *excellent* features, which I would love you to consider creating for your XOOPS forums............

- the opportunity to receive messages, in plain text, in a daily digest delivered to my personal email inbox.

- the opportunity to reply to posts from my outbox directly to the forum (ie, I do not need to visit the 'forum' to post messages, I can work offline throughout the day and send them all later to a (my web address)@xoopsforums.com for example.)

regards
India
