Darn nobody else has any ideas? There is not a template file or DB field I can edit to set this?

There has gotta be some way to change the default behaviour?

Thanks All

No, You got it irmtfan.

My problem is that I want to change the default of "From last 100 days" to "From the Beginning".

I was unable to do this from any admin panel and you were nice enough to point out that it can not be found in the admin panels.

I would like "From the beginning" to be the default for all my forums.

Thank you very much.

OK you were posting your response as I was posting mine.

Seriously?

OK

So I have been reading and searching, searching and reading.

It is the sort methods at the bottom of the forum that are the problem for me.

How can I default them to show all posts rather than the ones over the last 100 days. OK I need to improve my traffic. But I have honestly not run into this on any other forum and there is no option in the admin panel to control this.

I have RTFM and I see no mention of how to do this. Forum searches, nothing.

Please please please

I have searched and was unable to find anything.

My forum posts expire and I have not idea how to stop this from ahppening.

????

How can I show all the forum posts all the time. If one topic is quiet for a while all the posts dissappear.

What can I do to fix this? Where do I go???

Thank you

Hehehehe

So if you go to your admin area and choose users then choose edit user you can fix it all for your users too.

There we go, it's all good.

No this is not an XOOPS error. I had the same problem and so did a search in the forum for the words flat forum display or something of that ilk.

It is essentially a user error.

You see you went into preferences as told to do above, as I did. Then you went and viewed the forum, and DAMMIT it did not change.

Well hmmmmmm

I got to that point and instead of calling it a bug I looked further into it.

It seems because the default for the site in my case was nested. All of the users had defaulted to Nested too, including myself.

I had to go make the change in my user setting as well as my site preferences.

I am going now to see if I can edit the users current display method without going into the DB, Cool

I thank you, all I was really looking for was a link to the relevant documentation.

I have been getting into the admin functions and I think I know now what needs to be done, thank you.

I am just new to your CMS and am unfamiliar with the jargon. Just a one word link to the docs is plenty usually.

Thank you

Cheers
