newbb2 upgrade problems

Well, I've been procrastinating the upgrade of my newbb 1. I have a very active message board with over 12,000 posts and its a scary thing for me...

I ran the update script first per the readme file, then updated the module and it hosed everything.

is there something else I need to do here or am I missing a permission issue somewhere?

Is there a better way, should I switch to CBB?

Sure,, $1.50 per month,,LOL. I been in the hosting biz a long time and you get what you pay for.

After taking a look at template monster, I like your idea, maybe I'll try that myself. I'm good at editing code and graphics, just not that artistic myself.

I comes out to probably $240.00 of free hosting. I would be willing to extend that 6 months indefinitely for a really cool theme. All webservers are dual Xeon 2.4 ghz with 2 GB or RAM. MySQl servers are separate and NOT on the same machine for added speed and uptime. Its top quality hosting. As you can see from my site XOOPS runs smooth as silk on these machines.

As you can see I am a TERRIBLE web designer. I do however work for an excellent hosting company and have access to great hosting. My band uses XOOPS for our site but as you can see needs a serious makeover.

I am willing to trade 6 months (or longer) of free, reliable, ad-free hosting on either
Windows 2000, FreeBSD, or Linux RedHat servers in return for a complete XOOPS theme re-design.

Hosting features include:

500 MB Webspace (negotiable)
15 GB transfer (negotiable)

Unlimited domains, sub-domains, aliases, parking, redirects etc..

PHP
MySQL
*PgSql
*MSSQL
SSH access
FTP
Static IP
cPanel or H-SPhere control panel
Unlimited email including:
autoresponders, lists, aliases, forwarding and webmail.
