News Posting: Control Section Posting Privileges by Group

I am in the process of creating a XOOPS site for a local parish school (seehttp://64.177.172.43) and would like to be able to have a news-like area (wfsections?) where coaches can post team news for their respective teams only. E.g., the coach of 7th grade girls' basketball can post/edit news for that team only, but not for 8th grade boys' cross country -- etc. Both for XOOPS news and wfsections, as far as I can tell, posting access control by user group can only be restricted at the module level, not at the topic/section level. Has anyone come across a way to do what I'm trying to do?

It would be great if the layout of the grant/revoke area of the admin ui for private forum management could be tweaked to show each item and actions in its own table row instead of stacking them. It's kinda annoying scrolling down the page when there's a long list of people in a forum.

In other words, change...

admin (can post)
[revoke posting]
[Remove]

fred (can't post)
[grant posting]
[Remove]

Joe (can post)
[revoke posting]
[Remove]

...to...

admin (can post) [revoke posting][Remove]
fred (can't post) [grant posting] [Remove]
Joe (can post) [revoke posting][Remove]

Checkboxes to allow en masse grants/revokes would be nice/ too.

Toggle Show/Hide Title in Blocks

I'd like to see the ability to selectively hide or show block titles on a block by block basis. It's kinda possible to do this by just leaving the title of a block blank, but that leaves a nasty hole in the page and nothing by which to identify the block on the block admin page.

I'd like to see a radio button that would allow me to enter a descriptive title for admin identification purposes, but if show="no", simply not display the title cell at all.

'Twould be nice if the "Register Now" prompt/link would go bye-bye if the "Allow new user registration" parameter is set to "no" in System Admin > Prefs > User Info Settings.

That KINDA works -- except you can't set it to nothing which would be preferable. I changed mine to "-", so my title bar now reads My Site Name --- Microsoft Internet Explorer

Too bad. The editor is so much nicer for non-techie users than the block editor, and it doesn't force in those pesky print/e-mail icons at the bottom.

I'm sure this must have been asked before, but I've not been able to find it:

Is it possible to have a WF-Sections article (or series thereof) set to appear as home page content? I know I can get the wf-sections INDEX to appear there -- but that's not what I'm looking for. I mean the article itself.

I want to add another "vote" for this.

The abiity to add/remove data elements from the form (and edit field labels in the UI) would be MOST helpful. I have many applications in mind where things like address and phone number would be essential, whereas ICQ and YIM (etc.) fields are useless and in fact in the way. For example, I am putting together a reunion site and would like to be able to collect more detailed contact info. Check boxes/radio buttons, too ("Are you attending?").

Xoopsmembers + newbb could be a nice customer support tool with a few of these tweaks, too!!

Display xoopsmembers module as directory rather than search form?

Has anyone out there tackled getting the xoopsmembers module to display as a directory listing by default rather than as a search form? I am putting together a XOOPS site for a class reunion with a finite number of members, and I'd like to find a way to make the initial display into a sorted list of members rather than a search form.

User-creation of private forums

I am considering creating a companion module for newbb that would allow a registered user to self-create a private discussion forum (with webmaster validation), with other registered users being able to request memberhip in the forum from its creator.

Just so I don't go off reinventing the wheel, has anyone heard of anyone doing something like this before?

Thanks -
