And remember to get your custom templates out of your database!
You cannot acces them after upgrading!

For what's worth:

At home I still cannot login to the xoops.org site. I'm using IE9 and google Chrome (latest version), both no succes.
Cleared all history and cookies.

I'll try on my Ipad tonight (= same IP, other browser) but I still suspect the xoops.org protector for banning me. I'm posting this message from work (and with IE8).

Greetings!

Thank you guys for your feedback.

Luckily I installed 2.5.0 in a new database and in a different folder. So I had my old site still running, but I was unable to access it.
Clearing the protector xoops_lib/modules/protector/configs/ folder solved my logging in problem. In PHPmyadmin I saw a line in the database with my username and IP and 'brute force attack'. Maybe changing the login form (I was editing my theme while this login problem occurred) caused this. I don't know.

End of the line I was able to log in to my old site. Downloaded the templates as .tar.gz file. First it seemed corrupted, but I managed to extract it with MuCommander. I will add them to my 2.5.0 site and see if everything is back to normal this evening.

I'm posting this during worktime... I will try if I can log in to xoops.org from home this evening. I was wandering if protector blocked me also out of xoops. Is protector using a cloud? But first let me try to log in on xoops.org from my home IP this evening. I'll keep you guys updated.

Again I'd like to thank you all, now I'm having a good day :)

suddenly today, while changing some theme files, I couldn't login into my site anymore. hoops says welcome, but I'm not logged in. did a complete reinstall, installed 2.5.x, discovered that templates where completely different (i am afraid) I lost all my custom templates...
went to xoops.org and discovered the same login problem I had with my own site.
I can't believe I'm typing this message with my phone. this is defenately not my day. has protector locked me out of my own site and out of xoops?

is this possible??
thank you all!

Ghia,

Thanks for comprehensive answer. I completely understand. You cannot do something with a token or so. It is just that the username and password is sent without encryption. Didn't know that http is that unsafe. See if I can get ssl for my websites...

Greetings

I just had a idea, and it worked. Smarty also has a option to strip the <a href:
<{$story.topic_title|strip_tags:false}>

bedankt ghia,

the replace function did it. It is indeed a ugly solution, but I'll never see it :)

Thanks!

EDIT:
Now I fixed the |date_format with the replace function:
<{$event.formated_event_start|replace:'/':'-'|date_format:"%A, %B %e, %Y"}>

I think this is the most elegant of all the ugly solutions :)
