Thank you for the reply. The threat you mentioned above describes at least some concerns EXACTLY as I have them.

1) CBB doesnt seem to work yet with the original themes.
2) Moderation issue seems to be a bit unclear.

I would even add:

3) Project manager doesnt seem to have enough experience yet (only 6-24 mnoths - Want to Learn). I believe that the newbb project is one of the advanced modules, so I have a feeling that "Want to Learn" is not the right skill set to approach it.

http://dev.xoops.org/modules/xfmod/project/memberlist.php?group_id=1001
http://dev.xoops.org/modules/xfjobs/viewprofile.php?user_id=153

4) Development should take place onhttp://dev.xoops.org and NOThttp://xoopsforge.com.http://dev.xoops.org has been the place to go for years why changeing that to xoopsforge.com ? Is that REALLY necessary ?

Thats my 0.02$.

Best regards

CBB <--> newbb2.x

Hello XOOPS users,

By browsing the web I foundhttp://www.xoopsforge.com/ which offers CBB 3.x (promising to be an enhanced development of newbb2.x)

I havent heard anything yet from this new version. Also the download counter on

http://dev.xoops.org/modules/xfmod/project/showfiles.php?group_id=1001&release_id=1112#selected

shows that only 109 people downloaded it.

1) Is the new "maintainer" of newbb alias CBB doing this alone or will this be the "official" next version of the original newbb module ?

I am somehow confused as I didnt find any official announcement on www.xooops.org regarding the download.

2) Dows anybody who already used CBB3.x experienced any issues ?

3) I read that its possible to upgrade to CBB3.x , but I am somehow hesitating if this is currently developed only by a single user, which even dont announce the new versions properly. I dont want to upgrade now to hear in 3-6 months that somehow its not an official branch and downgrading is not possible ;-(.

4) Also when looking athttp://dev.xoops.org user "andersa" is suggesting to post athttp://xoopsforge.com while actually the development should take place at dev.xoops.org.
Whats going on, are there any discrepancies within the project ?

Any feedback is appreciated.

Best regards

Hello fellow Xoopsers,

Loooooong time ago I installed XOOPS 2.0.9.2.

Unfortunately as I just discovered I forgot if I installed the English version from xoops.org or the Japanese version from www.xoopscube.jp.

How can I differ these two ?

Obviously the Japanese version will have japanese language files, but I could have added those later also (I really forgot about it).

Is it possible that the Japanese XOOPS version installs with a different character set into MySQL (f.e. ujis), would that be a way to check it ?

Any help appreciated. I dont wont to mess up my site by choosing the wrong upgrade path ;-(

Best regards

Hi evrybody,

I found the solution. The redirect was set directly in the templates file. (who would have thought about that ??

The issue is solved now. Thanks for your attention.

That is EXACTLY what I was checking first BEFORE I posted

..But thanks there must be something else. All users are forwarded to the same (non existing) folder.

I could of course just create the folder and link back , but I prefer to understand the gain.

hi jdseymour,

What Iam trying to say is that After the login the user is forwarded tohttp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/foldername

However I dont remember having set the foldername (which is obviously wrong) and now I want to fix that.

During the installation XOOPS asks you for the install directories. I can only imagine that for whatever reason I must have input a wrong location link.

I double checked mainfile.php and the admin menu.
The only thing where this type of info is stored is basically in the DB itself. In this case I would appreciate if anybody knows in which of the 30 tables this info is stored.

You can basically get a similar situation when trying to transfer a XOOPS installation between servers and use different installation paths.

Does this make things clear ?

Best regards

Hi all,

today I came across a new wired problem. When a user logs in(read AFTER the login), the user is forwarded to a certain page (foldername):

f.ehttp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/foldername/

can I correct where its pointing to ?
In which Config file/DB table is the foldername set ?

I was double checking mainfile.php which was the obvious to do.
I also double checked the admin menu. Note that setting the startpage doesnt seem to fix that issue.

Any ideas much appreciated.

Ackbarr,

You are brilliant !!

I hate myself for not having seen this. I forgot to install the php4-mysql package.

Now, to avoid me having a flushed red face next time, how would usually troubleshoot such an issue ??

Nothing in the error logs, or do I look in the wrong place ?

Hi xoopsers,

not sure if that counts to the smae topic. I did download the English/japanese edition from www.xoopscube.jp. The installation will actually do most steps but will not create any single table in the database.

This means this time the installation ends for me even before the "Successfull Installation message ".
