Mamba, a search for Protector module comes up with the following results:

Protector (irmtran) and XoopsProtector (GIJoe).

Thanks, Mamba for reply.

One other question: what is the distinction between Protector and XoopsProtector?
Is one a later version of the other or are they separate modules with different degrees of protection?

As a newbie, I am unclear as to what combination of modules is needed to assure maximum security.
Protector comes with the core but do I get any more protection with Xortify? I understand that
Xoops Protector provides some extra security because of the Trust_Path but is it a replacement
for Protector or an add-on?

Would appreciate input.

Bleekk, I have no problem installing individual modules into the root
but I have trouble understanding how to get a package to work. Is it appended to
xoops 2.5.6 core?

Have tried a number of settings and looked at the installation guide but
I am obviously missing something.

Thanks Bleekk

Not sure that i presented my concern correctly. I first downloaded Xoops 2.5.6 and then the Basic Module Pack and have placed both in the root folder. Currently, when accessed by the localhost in wamp, they appear as two separate entries with non-connecting relationships. I want a single access point through localhost with components of both working together.

My objective has been to avoid downloading a number of modules if the Module package can do it in a single step. Hope this is clear.

Hi, I am new to Xoops.

Xoops 2.5.6 and Xoops25 Basic Module Pack have been installed on my localhost.
It appears they need to be merged but I am unsure of the correct way to do it.
Have checked a number of places but none seem logical.

Any help is appreciated.
