apologies for the noob questions. i've found the relevant files.

they aren't on the download xoops core page, though.

some modules (eg XOOPS Web Tools) will show no name on the modules list after i install (even though it said successful installation). when i try to uninstall, i get this error: Quote:
Fatal error: Call to a member function getInfo() on a non-object in /hermes/bosweb25b/b953/d5.gallonst/public_html/glider/freegames/modules/system/admin/modulesadmin/main.php on line 394

in order for a module to work, you just upload the folder into /modules/ right?

i get this pop up error, when clicking on the "install module" button, in the modules administration panel: Quote:

i turned debug mode on, but i get the same output.

eg, for modules that work (eg the game "battleships" from the main site) the picture will show in modules administration, as well as the name.

here is what it said when installing battleships:
Module data inserted successfullyModule ID5
Adding templates
...

Template battleships.html added to the database(ID69)

Template battleships.html compiled
Setting group rights
...

Added admin access right for Group ID 1
  Added user access right
for Group ID1
  Added user access right
for Group ID2
  Added user access right
for Group ID3
Module Battleships
-General Quarters II installed successfully.

another game from the main site, Broken Mirror, is one of the modules that doesn't work. in the installation menu, its picture doesn't show, after installing, its name doesn't show. while installing, it says (at the top of my browser)

Module File for Broken_Mirror Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!

here is what it said when trying to install broken mirror

Module data inserted successfullyModule ID6
Setting group rights
...

Added admin access right for Group ID 1
  Added user access right
for Group ID1
Module installed successfully
.

only a couple modules will install properly. are my folder settings wrong?

When i try to install some modules, the picture doesn't work, and it won't show up on the main menu. Uninstalling will just give an error message.

A message that occurs during the install: module file for (insert module name) not found

A couple modules work fine. One module (hoverbots game) worked at first. After reinstalling Xoops after encountering this glitch, on all subsequent installations, hoverbots is a module that doesn't work.

(btw, all of my /modules directories have a xoops_version.php)

please let me know if there is a known fix
